We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decisions that I have made that have contributed to my success are my authenticity, obedience, and the commitment to stay in my lane, doing what I’m graced to do. In my faith-based business, being yourself is key, a concept I delve into in my e-book, ‘Becoming Unmasked.’ Embracing boldness and courage, I inspire those in my business and ministry to follow suit. We often elevate people, admiring them for their perceived extraordinariness. Yet, the real distinction comes from relentless pursuit amidst fear and being genuinely oneself, truly representing your brand, not hiding behind a facade or imposter.

Obedience is crucial in both my business and ministry. I believe that when God leads you to do something, He supports it. Even when details are unclear, my faith and trust in God guide me, resulting in visible positive impacts. In the industry I am part of, it’s incredibly easy to fall into the trap of comparison, doubting the necessity or quality of one’s work. However, I’ve found extraordinary success in adhering strictly to the path I’ve been given. I believe in the importance of working within my limits until expansion naturally occurs. By focusing on what I am graced to do, I ensure prosperity and effectiveness.

This unique blend of authenticity, obedience, and a focused approach to my work forms the essence of my success. Even though success is subjective and varies for everyone, for me, it is about making a meaningful impact, no matter the scale. As long as my efforts resonate positively, even with just one person, I am confident that my decisions and actions are purposeful and necessary.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What truly sets my business apart is the integration of my personal life story into my work. Struggling with identity for a long time, I eventually channeled these experiences into assisting clients with brand and personal identity. My life’s fabric weaves through my business, allowing me to help others based on my own diverse experiences.

I’m most proud of transforming my challenges into solutions for others. What were barriers for me now serve as bridges for my clients, helping them emerge into their true potential and realize their business, ministry, or personal goals. Witnessing their evolution and success is incredibly fulfilling.

My journey here wasn’t by chance; it was a deliberate shift towards purpose. Like Peter’s transition from a fisherman to a ‘fisher of men,’ my path evolved from understanding branding fundamentals to empowering people in their identities. My commitment to excellence, outstanding customer service, and integrity has fueled referrals and growth. However, the journey wasn’t easy. Despite struggles and moments of doubt, I persisted, driven by the belief that perseverance and faith break barriers and build endurance.

I’ve learned that commitment to one’s work, especially when dedicated to a higher purpose, invites divine support. Building something sustainable requires consistency, continuous learning, humility, and the willingness to seek help.

Today, I run a multifaceted enterprise encompassing a branding firm, a publishing and media company, and a ministry called ‘A Bolder Woman.’ My brand is like a moving vehicle, creating pathways for others to follow. I believe we are all vehicles of change, and as we drive our courses, we pave the way for those connected to us to progress as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d be thrilled to share my favorite local spots with her, reflecting my growth and who I am as a woman. We’d start with a morning at my favorite lakefront, a quaint park off 305th and lakeshore with a stunning view and a vibrant sense of life and nature.

One of my recent favorites is the 1899 Golf Club. It’s a vintage, luxury indoor golf facility with an exceptional brunch and dinner menu. We’d play a few rounds of golf and perhaps enjoy their famous shrimp and grits to the smooth sounds of jazz.

For breakfast, we’d visit First Watch, my go-to spot for their farm-to-table offerings. We’d also explore the Botanical Garden, which always has new, seasonal exhibits that I find fascinating.

Sneaking away from work, we’d indulge in a candle-making experience, crafting our own scented candles. Lunch would be at the Macaroon Tea Room, a delightful spot for a midday break.

Given that my best friend loves planning, I’d leave ample room for her to add her own touches to our itinerary, ensuring a week filled with shared experiences and personal explorations.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, I can’t attribute my success to just one person. There’s an African proverb that says, ‘It takes a village to raise a child,’ and I resonate with that deeply. When I entered my current fields, I was like a child—unsure of my identity, gifts, and potential. Along my journey, numerous individuals have guided, mentored, and supported me. Each one has played a pivotal role in helping me reach where I am today, and I know there will be more to come.

The pastors in my life were instrumental in helping me discover and nurture my natural gifts, which are crucial to my ministry and intercessory work. Books like ‘Multiply X’ by John Bevere and speakers like Cindy Trimm opened my eyes to integrating my passions in both marketplace and ministry. Dr. Faith Wokoma, Dr. Bettina, and others helped me understand my prophetic identity, empowering me to speak out. Prophet Maria Bonner’s guidance was vital in my healing journey, enabling me to mentor others effectively. Dr. Alexis’s authenticity inspired me to embrace my true self, steering away from the pressure to conform.

My eighth-grade English teacher’s belief in my potential sparked the realization that I had a significant role to play. My recent mentor, Dr. Danielle, emphasizes the importance of diligent work and obedience in serving those we are called to assist.

Above all, my first pastor instilled in me a deep reverence for God, reminding me that everything I do in business and ministry is a tribute to Him. This foundational faith is the bedrock of my business, allowing me to serve others with love and dedication, a love first taught to me by God.

So, it’s clear that my journey is a tapestry woven by many hands. Without these influential figures, I’m unsure where I’d be. They all deserve recognition for their part in my story.
