Meet Jessica McPeck | Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica McPeck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Life is short. This was the thought behind starting my own business and leaving my teaching career. We only get one shot at this beautiful life and I felt like something was missing. I wanted to do something that had an impact on the town where I live and raise my kids. I wanted to be apart of my village.
What should our readers know about your business?
Giving back is very important to me. I am most proud of the “Livin’ on” line. This line was inspired by my Dad. He was a hardworking farmer and truck driver that named his truck and farm Livin’ on Dreams. After losing him to cancer, I realized I needed to pivot my life path. With my Mom by my side, I opened Livin’ on Dreams Boutique and created the Livin’ on line. With every purchase of a Livin’ on shirt, a donation is made to The American Cancer Society. Last year, cancer also took my Mom. Now the donation is made in both their names. My hope is to help find a cure for this horrible disease.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A visit to the Village of Lewisburg would start at Brick Rhod Antiques and Bistro. Here you would fuel and caffeinate your body for the day. You can also start shopping the antique booths located in the same historic building.
Next you will wonder through the small shops on Commerce Street in Historic Downtown. Here you will find my clothing boutique, Livin’ on Dreams Boutique and several other shops.
Shop Bloom Market for beautiful florals and gifts, Yankee Clover Mercantile is where you will find antiques and unique home good finds. 1893 Storehouse Co. will fill your home with nostalgic scents. Haven-Home, Garden, Body is the next shop on your path. This shop is a perfect place to find that unique gift. Continue your journey at Back Door Craft Store (antiques and home craft decor) and Readers Delight (books and comics). Next stop at Flour Bakery for a coffee and sweet treat.
Travel to the North end of town for lunch at the local pizza place, Sarah’s Pizza. Then back downtown to visit the businesses located on top of Ace Hardware. Here is where you will find C. Sharp antiques and the wonderful photo studio, Paisley Perfect Photography. You can even join a dance class at Maria’s Studio.
One block to the west is a charming artist venue called The Joy and Whimsy Depot. Check out local artisans or a play by The Preble Players.
Depending on the time of the year, the Village local parks are a must see. Walk the walking path, splash in the free Splash pad in the summer or enjoy the Christmas lights in the winter. Visit the Historical Society train caboose and Blacksmith shop.
Before heading out of town, stop for supper at Wengers Bar and Grill. They have a fantastic burger!
Lewisburg, Ohio is a small village that is transforming into a destination town. I am proud to be apart of this transformation!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The organization Lewisburg Life deserves a huge shout out. This group, led by Mandy Pahl, helped organize the Village shop owners so that we could have successful events for our community. These events helped sales surge and helped the word spread about our cute town.
