Meet Joe Eid | Music Artist, Event Curator,

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Eid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One thing about the music industry that outsiders are probably unaware of is how mentally taxing it is to deal with all sorts of different personalities who create music and have their own visions of how items should be complete. Creating a song with multiple people on it can be very stressful because some people like things recorded in certain ways while others may not think it sounds good. When it comes to events as well, operating with multiple personalities is hard because you have to make sure that the morale of every artist is on point so they can perform at their best.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I use art to share experiences that communicate to people that they are not alone. I believe in creating music that brings people together and is relatable. My albums have something for everyone to hear, whether it’s living in a fast life with money or overcoming internal struggles while having nothing. As confusing objectives accumulate in my life, I continue to grow in confidence, using music as an outlet to inspire others and express how I overcome those challenges. I believe that my experience in life has taught me to discern better who to have a big heart with, who to open up to, and when to open up. It’s a part of my story and separates me from others because I’m willing to talk about anything in my music, but need to trust you in order to really open up about it in real life. I have more gifts to share with the world and am determined to grow while bringing others along on the journey of elevation with my brand and story. I got to where I am today by being myself and I’m most excited about the album I have coming out in January. I want the world to know I’m here to stay when it comes to music, and that I’ll make an impact very soon around the world not just regionally.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In an ideal setting my best friend would be coming into Cincinnati for the weekend and I could show them around because I didn’t have a gig or concert. It’s unrealistic for me to have anybody stay for a week long trip because of my schedule. It’s also unrealistic for me to show anybody around if I’m hosting an event or performing. I am from Dayton, Ohio but have built most of my music audience and network in Cincinnati which is why I’ll be speaking about Cincinnati. However, I could also lay out a weekend in Dayton as well.
On Friday once I get off of work I would take my best friend to dinner. I would start by taking them to Alladin’s and letting them get a little taste of Lebanese cuisine. I am Lebanese and if you know me well most of the activities that I love to do revolve around my culture. Once we are done eating, I would take my best friend to Pins Mechanical Co. across the street to get a drink, and to potentially play some bowling or arcade games. After we were to complete this activity, our next stop for the night would include taking them to Baru because the spot looks very nice, is upscale, and has parties on Friday. Some of the best DJ’s in Cincinnati play at the spot while it’s always safe and is a good time. After dancing the night away, connecting with other people, or just enjoying the environment, the last stop I would make after going to Baru would include going to Bohemian Hookah Bar. They are always open really late, and is a good way for my best friend and I to unwind after the long night. Like I said before, my Middle Eastern Culture really matters to me and hookah is a big staple in my culture when I hang out with my friends. All of these locations are relatively close to each other so it would be a great way to keep the night going!
When I wake up Saturday, I would take my best friend to The Upside Brew to get a coffee. It’s always well made and the inside of the place is a really cool lounge where you can get worked finished. After finishing our coffee, I would take my friend to the Cincinnati Zoo. It has been rated as the best zoo in the country according to USA Today’s 2022 10 best Reader’s Choice. Once we are finished touring the zoo, I would grab a late lunch/early dinner at Cincy Steak & Lemonade where I would bash on chicken wings. It’s my favorite spot to eat wings in Cincinnati, and has a plethora of options that any visitor would enjoy. Before going out for the night, I would unwind with my best friend by going to Sahara Hookah Lounge which is my personal favorite hookah lounge in Cincinnati. Lastly, I would take my best friend to Tulua where the vibes are always immaculate to hang out and dance the night away!
On Sunday, even though it isn’t directly in Cincinnati, I would take my friend to Honey Uninhibited in Covington, Kentucky. The place has some of the best breakfast I’ve ate in the area and is a definite must visit. After, I would travel to Newport Aquarium to let my visitor from out of town enjoy the experience of the aquarium. Once this experience is over we would enjoy our time around Newport on the Levee while stopping at one of the several bars or restaurants that are now open in the area. I’d also make sure that my visitor got a picture at Newport on the Levee with Cincinnati and its skyscrapers in the background. I’d walk across The Purple People Bridge and back with my friend once this is finished to really embody that connection that even though Newport, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio are two different places, they are definitely connected and make the Greater Cincinnati Area an amazing place. After I would take my friend to the airport after enjoying this amazing weekend.
This would conclude the weekend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My brothers in PRO, my parents, my cousins, and my music peers/mentors in Southwest Ohio!
