We had the good fortune of connecting with Giavonna Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Giavonna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would say that the most important factor behind my success is God. Specifically Christ. My brand is built on a spiritual foundation. It creates an illumination around my brand that makes me stand out from most. If I’m being honest, we don’t live in the world that considers the spirit over anything else. When in fact, the spirit is the engine that drives this force called life.

My brand is built on bringing people into the present moment so they are able to experience the presence of God, to experience their spirit in real time, and to be led by divine guidance.

It is a brand of true rebellion , one that goes against societal, norms, shaking up all thoughts surrounding what it means to be a Yogi and a spiritual teacher.

I follow the laws of the universe, when it comes to my business. The success of my business is based on the inevitability of the commitment I have made to follow their guidance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I stepped away from corporate America in 2018, I wasn’t quite sure where my yoga practice would take me.

Essentially it was a trust fall with God. I was divinely lead to embark on this journey. I left six figures for the unknown. I was called not only to expand my own consciousness, but to share the knowledge I gained on my journey, with others to help expand the collective consciousness. I had to trust that doing this would not only fulfill my soul’s purpose but also provide a living. And it did!

The stand out part of my business is that I use Christ, energy and combination with the physical practice of yoga in order to show others how to heal their bodies.

What sets me apart from most is that I step outside of the legalized constraints of the modern Christian church and westernized Yoga.

I teach how to live on earth embodied by a healthy divinely guided spirit.

My courage to depend on God to provide instruction as to what life and business moves to make is my only business model.

The thing that I am most proud of is my courage to continue to stand firmly in my purpose, no matter how strange it may look from the outside.

This is not been an easy road. Initially, when I stepped away from corporate America, I lost my marriage, multiple friendships, and recently I was ostracized by a community that claimed inclusion, for my unique approach to healing and teaching.

My way of dealing with these hardships was to find deep forgiveness for the individuals.
I reframed these events as an opportunity to fully expand and step into my power.

I was inspired to launch my latest business venture The Body of Christ Yoga Ministry.

I want the world to know that this little girl from Cleveland was able to expand her mind beyond her wildest dreams to obtain the vision that God placed in my heart. I want others to be able to know and see the result of truly trusting God every step of your life will only lead to inevitable success, but most of all peace.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Upon arrival, I would get my friend settled in by taking them to my favorite spa Sacred Hour and we would spend the day loving ourselves. We would do an hour of yoga get cleaned up, get a manicure, pedicure, facial, and or a massage or embark upon a Korean scrub. After spending the day relaxing, we would grab a pizza from Boom’s and enjoy a movie in.

The next day we would head to is to the University Circle area. There’s so much art and creative energy in that area town. We will go to the MOCA and Cleveland Museum of Art, visit the exhibit as well as take in a delicious lunch at fabulous restaurant downstairs.

That next day we would spend a day hiking in the Metroparks preferably Rocky River reservation. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. After spending the day in nature, I would take them to one of my favorite restaurants, Tartine, which is also located in Rocky River.

Another day we would spend in the Ohio City area. We’d stop in a few places like Verbena and tour the shops in the area. Maybe do a little shopping at The Hangar and have dinner at Amba.

On the last day we would visit the Theater District and take in a play at the Playhouse and end the night with a delicious dinner at Osteria.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I have had so much help on this journey to success. I cannot began to name all of the beautiful angels and support that the divine has sent to me during the growth of my business.

One of the most influential and impactful mentors/ teachers that I have had on this journey is Caroline Myss. Her teachings have supported me in ways that expanded my business beyond my own personal imagining.

My yoga community through Cultivate Yoga has also been instrumental in the growth of my teaching practice. I am so grateful for my students and my fellow yoga teachers. They have inspired me beyond words.
