Meet Sherri Sherock | Certified Holistic Functional Practitioner Specializing in Peri-Postmenopause

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherri Sherock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sherri, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to serve, educate and empower as many midlife women about supporting their hormone health, lose the menopausal weight, and gain the confidence back.
This process of creating a women’s health-based business was inspired by speaking with hundreds of women I have encountered over the past several years, including my own experience as well. The fact is that women’s health issues are still not openly talked about in society and that so many women don’t know how to support themselves during the challenging time of midlife transition.
Educating women to know they have a say in their health and not to accept the first thing given to them. Reaffirming to them it’s ok to question, speak up and learn about their own physiology because this topic was never taught to women or their mom or generations before that. Having empowerment and not having to ask for permission to take control of their own health is so amazing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started KickSpark Fitness, LLC to help women over 40 balance their hormones so they can lose the menopausal weight without fad diets or hard-core workouts. I provide women a roadmap that will not only alleviate their menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, fatigue, and sleep deprivation, but also help lose the stubborn weight which can be challenging during this time in a woman’s life. With clients participating in my program the end results are always weight loss, balanced hormones, and the confidence they regain feeling like themselves again. This roadmap journey is about positive energy and taking small steps to get to obtainable goals.
I feel my company is set apart from others by providing peri to postmenopausal women with simple solutions for weight loss and hot flashes with uncomplicated lifestyle changes they can do themselves without medication. There are no diets or hard-core workouts. I empower my clients with tactics and knowledge, so they can incorporate an easy and sustainable lifestyle where they feel independent, strong, and confident.
What I am most proud brand wise is how I’m talking about women’s health issues that society has not spoken about and still does not talk about, and educating women about what is going on with their hormones and how to support themselves with nutrition and movement. I do this by public speaking at women’s health events, conferences and corporate companies, as peri-postmenopause affects thousands of working women’s performance in all industries. My partner, expert mindset coach, May Bharath and I speak about how to support your body AND mind during the menopausal phases.
The goal is to reach as many women as possible and to educate the fact that age is just a number and learn she can be STRONG mentally and physically without apologizing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in the Toledo, Ohio area there are so many places big and small to explore. I would take my friend to the internationally known art museum, Toledo Museum of Art to spend the day exploring a collection of more than 30,000 pieces. Other places would be The Toledo Zoo, many of the gorgeous Metroparks within the area, (all one of a kind) and if it’s a summer season, definitely attend a Toledo Mud Hens baseball game.
Restaurants to indulge in would be The Chop House located in downtown Toledo, dining right on the riverfront and exploring The Heights, which is a stylish, rustic-chic bar that offers global bites & panoramic views of the river and amazing city skyline.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people in my life that have made an impact in my journey, but my son is the person that inspired me to look deeper into health and learn how food and movement play a huge role in true wellness.
My son was diagnosed with Autism at 3 years old. I spent years researching how foods and movement affected how he felt and ways he could recover. It was at that point I began thinking to myself how food and movement affects all of us as well. As his health improved, I too became more aware of my own health, I was so inspired to learn more about women’s wellness, I soon became certified in functional fitness and functional nutrition, switching careers in my 40’s.
My son still inspires me today as he attends college pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
