We had the good fortune of connecting with Ron Compton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The restaurant industry has been my sanctuary—a place where joy and purpose intertwine. However, my career in the financial industry ignited a desire for autonomy, wealth creation, and entrepreneurship. Reflecting on my journey, I’ve unearthed talents that shaped my vision for starting my own business—a fusion of world class customer service, relationship building, and Pit-Master culinary expertise.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am most proud that in October 2023 I celebrated my 28th year with Morgan Stanley. In addition to that milestone, 2024 ushered in our 10th year serving our award-winning BBQ to the Best Damn Fans in the Land.

It has not been easy. We’ve had to learn to be strategic and intentional while building our business. It has required and still requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. My wife Susan and I agree to take risks, make sacrifices, and continue to learn from challenges that come our way. We remain committed to putting in the work and together we can overcome any challenge.

We are excited to present our vision in the form of remarkable BBQ and world class service to all our guests. Our caring and committed staff will ensure you have a fantastic experience with us. We refuse to compromise on quality and service when it comes to our guests that choose to dine at Ron’s BBQ. That’s why we cook everything fresh and offer to customize our customers’ catering needs. “All you have to do is show up!”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

A tour of our wonderful City!
