Meet Jessica Doyle | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Doyle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I gave birth to my daughter in August of 2019, with my first child being a boy there were so many more doors opened when it came to clothes shopping! Covid hit in 2020 with Ohio shutting down in March. Covid hitting slowed everything down including taking my daughter shopping for all the cute things! Receiving the stimulus checks during Covid, I suggested to my husband we should use it to invest in something and I knew just the perfect thing! At that point J.C & Me was created and I would carry all the cutest things for little girls to wear!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
J.C & Me first started out carrying children’s boutique clothing, while we still carry boutique clothing for both girls and boys, we have expanded to a variety of other things. We now do graphic tops in many different styles and different projects for local groups. We have done socks for a local school’s cheer team, koozies for multiple weddings, head bands for a different local school’s volleyball team, clog charm fundraisers for multiple schools and so much more.
Truly I am most proud of how long J.C & Me has been open! Like any business there are obstacles and challenges that come up and through each of them we have been able to keep going and stay open! It definitely has not been easy but a lesson we have always tried to instill in our children is we do not give up when things get tough!
The biggest lesson I have learned is never to sell myself short. My work, prices and personality are not for everyone and that is totally okay! I should not change things on my end to please other people. The right people will love my work for what it is and not think twice about my prices.
I want the world to know that my entire heart goes into J.C & Me, besides some behind the scenes work from my husband and best friend, I do everything. Each project that is made, I make with love and every custom order is made JUST FOR YOU!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
While it might not be for everyone, the first stop of our fun would be for a Kewpee Burger in the morning. If you visit my hometown, it is an absolute must! We would have to stop for a Joey’s Sub and to get ice cream at Bierly’s Dairy Haus. Pampering ourselves at some point at Sei Bella Esthetics with the best waxes and facials in town would be a top priority. Our downtown area has really been revamping over the past few years, opening an amphitheater and bringing in entertainment plus hosting local entertainers. If applicable, we would go to a show at the Civic Center while downtown. Most recently a historic building was transformed into a place for everyone! Duck bowling and arcade, local Italian restaurant and a rooftop bar with tacos!! A triple threat that I am super excited for!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Both of my children deserve all the credit! J.C & Me was not only started with the thought of clothing my daughter but the name came from them! J stands for Janey, C stands for Cooper and then there is Me! I wanted to give them something to look up to and to show them everything worth having takes a little work!
