Hi Olivia Peltier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We longed to create a lasting impact in our small town community by offering unique and customized bridal gowns and accessories that aren’t readily available locally. By leveraging our passion for fashion and weddings to create a business that is both fulfilling for us and valuable to the community, we’re able to create an intimate and personalized shopping experience that caters specifically to each and every bride to be.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Modern On Market is a relaxed, intimate and luxurious bridal boutique nestled in the heart of Troy, OH. We offer a curated collection of designer bridal gowns exquisitely hand crafted by each and every one of our designers. We are incredibly passionate about the craftsmanship of bridal gowns and the story each and every individual dress tells.

Our greatest challenge in business thus far was opening on the cusp of COVID. Not only were we shut down a shy six months of our grand opening, but it altered the wedding industry in many different ways forever. Building brand awareness and establishing our business in the midst of a pandemic was challenging. We had to find innovative ways to market our business and connect with customers, leveraging social media, online advertising, and other digital platforms to reach our target audience and build a loyal customer base.

Through withstanding the weight of the pandemic, we grew tremendously as individuals and entrepreneurs. We believe the challenges not only made us resilient, but even more passionate about our craft than ever before.

We want the world to know that our bridal boutique is more than just a place to find the perfect wedding dress—it’s a haven where dreams come to life and love stories unfold. Our boutique is the embodiment of passion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to making every bride’s journey to the aisle as magical and memorable as possible.

We are so excited to have you visit our hometown of Troy, Ohio! Here are some of our absolute favorite spots to hang out, grab a bite and our favorite drinks.

If we both have a day on the town together, here’s what’s on our itinerary:

First stop, we’re grabbing coffee at Purebred and then headed to ReU Juicery to grab an avocado toastie to enjoy on a park bench around the square. Then we’re headed to Magnolia Mae to do some shopping before we go on a leisurely walk along the Great Miami river. For lunch, we’re headed to Bakehouse or Haren’s Market to grab our go-to favorite meals. For dinner, we’re headed over to the old fire station to grab Old Scratch Pizza and ice cream. There are so many amazing spots in our downtown to check out, these are just a few of our favorites!
