We had the good fortune of connecting with Edsha L. Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edsha L., let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Interestingly, we recently discussed this topic at my book club meeting—shoutout to the High Paper Society. I aspire to leave a legacy of love, there’s no coincidence with it being my middle name. I delight in showering people with love, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and empowered to embrace their authentic selves. This comes naturally to me, and I want my legacy to reflect that I made people feel genuinely loved, leaving them and their surroundings enriched by my presence. Additionally, I aim to be remembered for my attitude of gratitude and for inspiring others to cultivate this same spirit in their own lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, The Luxury Hair Lab, is dedicated to empowering and elevating the lives of women by delivering an unparalleled hair experience. Our mission is rooted in authenticity, meticulous craftsmanship, personalized care, and education. We provide premium hair extensions, hair care, and education that enhance outward beauty and nurture inner confidence. With special attention to detail, I take immense pride in the service, products, and overall experience we offer.

I’m particularly proud of the growth and transformation both my business and I have undergone. Initially known as “Transformations by Edsha” and later “Edsha’s Hair Lab,” I envisioned a brand that transcended my name, embodying the luxurious experience we provide—thus, The Luxury Hair Lab was born. While my vision for TLHL extends far beyond its current state, I am very proud of our accomplishments so far.

In addition to TLHL, I have a personal brand, Edsha Love Enterprises, which evolves alongside me. I believe in using my challenges as fuel for progress. Personal development is a passion of mine, and one of my favorite books is “The Mountain is You” by Brianna Wiest, a must-read for everyone.

At one point, I struggled with imposter syndrome, holding myself back from pursuing bigger dreams & goals. I’ve since embraced the power of microshifts, which have led to significant breakthroughs and boosted my confidence. This year, I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone, approaching uncertainty with curiosity, and striving to cultivate the best version of myself while embracing my imperfections. I believe true authenticity is born from self-awareness.

One of my favorite personal projects is my Daily Gratitude Journal, a life-changing gateway to a world where appreciation breeds abundance. It’s available for digital download on my website, and I’m excited to offer a physical copy in the near future.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wellness is a top priority for me, so if I were to take a friend out, our week would include a Pilates session with Jasmine Jones at Replenish Spa and an outdoor yoga class with Malik Willoughby in Box Park on Mt. Vernon. We would also explore my favorite spot, Franklin Park, for deep conversations, connection, and maybe even an impromptu photoshoot with our iPhones.

Brunch would be at RH Rooftop or another rooftop downtown, where we could enjoy the sun, ambiance, and delicious food. Maybe the East Market for lunch to enjoy some variety. Self-care is essential, so facials, pedicures, and massages would be on the agenda at my favorite local spas: Beauty 101 in Reynoldsburg or Expressions Full Service Salon off of East Main Street.

We would take the opportunity to sleep in—a rare luxury these days. If possible, we’d catch a quick flight to the beach for some sun and relaxation. And if my friend was up for it, we’d get dressed up and enjoy a night on the town, making the most of every moment.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The first person who comes to mind when I think of someone who has profoundly impacted my life is my big sister, Charlotte. She embodies the notion that if she doesn’t like you, the fault must lie with you—her love and acceptance are boundless. Throughout my life, she has been a major source of love and support, especially after our mother passed away when I was 17 and in my senior year of high school. At 32, with two children of her own, Charlotte stepped in to fill the void, guiding me through school, prom, graduation, and into college—all while grieving the loss of our mother. Her strength, unwavering character, and steadfast faith in God are truly remarkable. I wish everyone could have a Sister Charlotte; I am deeply grateful to have her by my side.
