We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Wong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Start this business i wanted to give back to the hockey world and had nothing to do at the time while waiting for a new contract. I got lucky and worked hard at being who I was. What i mean by that is, i was given an opportunity to train a player named Alex for 4-5 months, 3-4 times a week for 2 hours. We worked on 1 hour of off-ice hockey skills like shooting and stick handling and 1 hour of dryland workout training. As the training evolved, I teamed up with Uvic Vikes Hockey Team in a 4 week hockey camp.
Our business helps the community in many ways, we work with the youth on their hockey skills and learning the game. Most importantly our head coaches, and assistants/mentors give back to the youth with their leadership skills, experiences and mentorship. Our business and groups of coaches thrives off these and many parents and families value that for their kids.
Our business helps the world by connecting numerous players of all ages and background and families in the game of hockey. An opportunity for growth as people and athletes. They are open to new friends, and can look up to and work with our coaches/mentors. These players are trainign locally with each other, and give opportunities to play and travel the country and world where they can gain life skills and meet other people and cultures.

What should our readers know about your business?
7 years of having the business its been a journey. Looking back at how small it started and how rapidly it grew. The need for coaching, skills coaching and leadership/mentorship in our community. It was special to have parents and some people that were in charge to be able to promote or encourage.
To a point it was simple, as it was who i was and what i had done as a young child, hockey player and professional player. I was always good with the fans, good with kids and loved giving back my tricks to become better or stronger.
The world should know that we are a company, helping young families afford training and being able to play itself. It is so expensive to do everything, whether you need a skating coach, skills coach or to do 2 or 3 teams. We want to provide what young players need young, put a lot of the money into training, meeting new local friends and competing within. Life skills and leadership is also encouraged by our coaches.
As we have one foot in globally we hope to continue expanding around the West Coast, in North America and Globally overseas.
We have faced many challenges as well and its taken lots of support to push through and we continue to educate the families, parents and players that do not know what is next for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Victoria, BC- A nice small isalnd on the westcoast of BC. Places like Victoria, Tofino, Port Renfrew, Nanaimo , Parksville are popular on the island. Lots of outdoor actitvitiees, fishing, hiking, lake days, sports, mountain biking, and enjoying the sun from April- October.
Butchart Gardens is also a famous world wide place here.
