Meet Jeremiah Jackson | Social Media Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremiah, how do you think about risk?
Initially taking risk and putting yourself out there is never easy when starting off. I think over time as you begin to take positive risk more frequently, it becomes more of a normalized practice. As an introvert I found myself just three years ago afraid of taking risk. I was the kid in class never raising his hand answering a question, afraid of getting it wrong, or the kid who had a talent, but never putting myself out there. Not wanting to put myself outside my comfort zone. But I knew something in my life needed to change. During my third year at the University of Findlay when I was playing football I found I lost the passion for a sport I’ve played and put so much effort into for a majority of my life. And I was fascinated with Japanese anime and manga and wanted to find more people to talk to about it. And therefore came up with the idea of creating, “Kagelvltv,” my YouTube channel. But this was a huge risk for me because I’ve been a quiet person my whole life. Rarely posted myself on social media unlike all of my peers during this time. And I began to get in my own head about putting myself out there. Fun fact it actually took me a whole week to upload my first YouTube video because I was afraid of what people who think. And what I found was that I was in my own head.
With wanting change in your life comes actually doing the action to make change. I wanted to start by building my confidence socially. That may sound funny but it was so true. And I found this very difficult to do at first. I would start by doing the little things. Asking questions in class. Greeting everyone I came into contact with. Participate in social events. Give my opinions more. I would force myself to be uncomfortable because I knew I had to become a confident individual if I wanted to achieve my goals. Taking risk has been a huge part of my life. But I don’t see it as taking risk anymore. Because it’s investing in an opportunity for yourself. You can either invest in yourself and the opportunity that could be. Or sit on that idea for the rest of your life and experience regret. I now do not think about it as taking risk because I don’t allow the idea of failure to creep into my mind. I don’t take risk with the idea of not achieving it anymore. I am a firm believer that when putting faith in the mix with taking risk. If it’s in alignment with God’s will. Your bound to succeed.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My YouTube channel: Kagelvltv is where I post majority of my content. With anime and manga being so popular these days there are may creators within this niche. But I believe that’s a good thing. The anime community has become vast giving people the opportunity for discussions, and debates. And that’s a main reason why I started my YouTube channel, to be able to discuss anime and manga with those people. So far into my content creation journey I am most proud of how consistent I’ve been through the past three years. With discipline and consistency eventually comes results. And I am proud of myself of how I became a better storyteller, graphic designer, and video editor through creating quality videos. But of course nothing is ever easy. Trying to improve how to become a better content creator took time. But it took a lot of videos to learn because I taught myself how to edit. And through the relationships I’ve built being in media I’ve learned how to become an improved storyteller through their critique. One of the most most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is to never give up. And I know that’s very generic, and many people could say that. But when you set out a dream or goal for yourself and work for it, and male sure it aligns with God’s will, then I believe it will be done. I want my name and Kagelvltv to be a way for opportunity. I never envisioned for Kagelvltv to be solely myself involved but a team or group. Because I would also love to expand Kagelvltv to more than just anime but also to music and sports as well because I am more than just anime.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Columbus has many things to offer in terms of sight-seeing, entertainment, and just for relaxation. Some of the things I love to do are to skate at Skate Zone 71, where on their adult nights it gets packed with skaters being able dance and float on the rink. Also to somewhere I’ve always been going to is Easton Mall. Whether it is going to see a movie in the AMC Theaters, grab a bite to eat at the various restaurants Easton has to offer. Easton seems to be always growing. Including Pins. Probably my favorite spot in Easton to go hang out with friends, play games, and grab something to eat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s a saying where people say, “It takes a village.” And that’s so true. I am a product of many people who have poured into me. From of course my family. My dad, mom, and brothers, when at the lowest time of my life they were there to help guide me along this journey of life. To all the coaches I’ve had at the University of Findlay, especially Jason Makrinos, Kory Allen, and Tom Reboltz and Chad Wagner. They don’t know how much of an impact they’ve had on my life. From believing in me, giving me hope, and teaching me how to become a better man which helped me become a better football player during my time at the University of Findlay. At a time where I had gave up on myself as a player they poured confidence into me, molded me into a leader, and made me into the person I am today. They helped me build a stronger mentality, and taught me how to work hard to achieve my goals. I am so grateful for the amazing coaches I’ve had at the University of Findlay who all coached me not only to become the best football player I could be, but to also become the best version of myself that I could be. And I carry their teaching in my daily life still to this day.
