We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheneefah Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheneefah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks can open doors to new opportunities that you never imagined would be available. Taking risks has taught me how to handle setbacks and learn from failure. One of the main roles risks have played in my life is boosting my self-confidence. Each time I took a risk and succeeded, it strengthened my belief in my own abilities.

Yes, risks are scary, but they are vital to success. The potential rewards make it all worthwhile.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Creating Alkalina Tea has been a challenging yet rewarding journey. As an African American entrepreneur, I found it difficult to get the assistance needed for growth. Despite these challenges, I am proud to say I have taken charge of my own marketing. One day, I decided, “If I build my name, Sheneefah Johnson, and show the world who I am, Alkalina Tea can and will grow to be the largest nutritional tea company in the world.” This is underway the team is perfecting labeling and has already produced an amazing logo.

Determined to step out of my comfort zone, I teamed up with Maurandis Berger and his film production company, Maurandis Da Radus Films. I joined his growing team as an assistant director and actress. You can catch me in GRIMY on Prime, The Closest Ones on Tubi, and soon in 3am, which is currently in production.

My growth didn’t stop there. I also became an author and publisher, producing two books, The Secret’s Out and Perseverance, both available on Amazon and Kindle.

Stepping outside of my comfort zone has been instrumental in the success of my endeavors. Every time I pushed beyond my familiar boundaries, I discovered new strengths and capabilities within myself. It’s in those moments of uncertainty and challenge that I’ve found the most growth, both personally and professionally. Embracing the unknown has not only opened doors to incredible opportunities but also reinforced my belief in my ability to overcome obstacles. With the focus being on Alkalina Tea we are looking to launch our exclusive line in the Summer of ’25.

It’s heartwarming to look back and see how these leaps of faith have shaped my journey and led to fulfilling achievements. After all is said and done, I want the world to know: it’s never too late to get healthy!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d show them the best time in Cleveland, Ohio. Here’s a week-long itinerary of fun, interesting, and exciting activities:

Start at the Cleveland Museum of Art. With free admission, we can marvel at masterpieces from renowned artists.

Head to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to explore music history. For lunch, hit Melt Bar and Grilled for epic grilled cheese sandwiches.

Visit the Cleveland Metroparks for hiking and biking, followed by a picnic at Edgewater Park with stunning views of Lake Erie.

Just a few of the places we could frequent

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
David Walker; with Walk Star films, is an amazing director based out of Ohio.

I’d also like to give a shout-out to Terrell McClain, who is doing great things. He operates and owns Junk Gator, a full-scale junk removal company based in Akron, Ohio.
