Meet Jarrad Nance | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarrad Nance and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jarrad, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Finding the right work life balance has definitely been an ever evolving challenge from the day I started working for myself. One of the positives of this career is that I have the luxury of setting my own hours, but at times that luxury feels like a curse. In the early days when the channel started really getting momentum I found myself working from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to sleep as I wanted to keep this momentum going. After a year of this draining routine I found myself incredibly burnt out and in a poor position with both my physical and mental health. Fast forward 6 years and I now find myself a lot more disciplined with my work life balance and have made it a priority to schedule things in my life that force me out of the office on a routine basis; volleyball matches, pickleball, weekly trivia etc.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Getting to the point I am now took a lot of hard work, i’ve been creating content on YouTube since i was 15 years old in 2012 and I got only minor momentum for the first 5 years of that journey. Really studying the entire youtube community outside of my niche and finding creative ways to redefine content in my niche was a massive changing point for my career. I believe this creativity and outside the box thinking on content is what sets me apart.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
100% priority number 1 needs to be getting them to some sort of sporting game! If FC Cincinnati are playing we’re getting tickets without a doubt, I also love getting to take people to Reds and Bengals games. We would definitely have a booking at Sotto one night of the week as well, that’s my number 1 spot to eat in town! The Eagle for lunch one day would be a must do and you cannot forget Skyline Chili, I have loved taking everyone I know to Skyline! If we’re looking to have a drink with a great, local crowd too then Finke’s pub just over the bridge in Park Hill is the spot to go!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My entire support system have had my back and believed in what I have been doing from the very early days. My parents have been terrific supporters, my close circle of friends have cheered me on and celebrated every milestone and for that I’m incredibly grateful. A huge shoutout goes to my friend and fellow creator Jake Barford (BFordLancer) without him I wouldn’t be living in Cincinnati which has turned out to be one of the best moves of my life.
