We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaimie Coffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaimie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Mainly, creative freedom. but I also wanted my own space where clients from all walks of life could feel safe. Sometimes when clients are laying down with their eyes closed, they feel safe enough to bare their soul. I feel so fortunate and grateful to be trusted with this information. Sometimes I am the first to find out about a pregnancy, a divorce, a death in the family, or an identity crisis and I wanted a private and comfortable space for my clients so that when they open their eyes, they feel as beautiful as I see them. They trust in me so I wanted to be able to use trusted products and have faith in my abilities to execute the perfect service.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As much as I know not all lash artists are created equal, I love to support my fellow lash artists. Whether it be by Sharing their work on social media or referring clients to them, I firmly believe in community over competition! This hasn’t been an easy journey but nothing really worth having comes quickly and easily. If it did, I doubt that we would ever grow. I have learned that it is so incredibly important to be organized and to never be afraid to ask for help!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
ok I love this question! First we would get breakfast at Brewellas in Lakewood (they have the best crepes and coffee), then we would go on the Tiki Barge in downtown Cleveland for a fun little cruise on Lake Erie! After that we would have lunch at Ohio Pie (the pizza is an absolute must and hands down, the best in Ohio). of course you have to take a walk through the metro parks to work off those pizza carbs and then we can do my favorite thing ever, go see a movie in Crocker park! On the way home we can catch a drink at LBM in Lakewood! Oooo we can also take my dog Chief to Lakewood Truck Park!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My son Kevin has been my driving force of inspiration since I had him when I was 15. His smiling face and my never-ending love to see him smile has kept me going. One of my good friends Rachel is the one who knew me well enough to know I should go to beauty school and when I didn’t know what to do after beauty school, she told me about lash extensions and I fell in love with it! My stepsister Jen and my friend Andee both showed me how strong women are. They both battled breast cancer with unbelievable tenacity and if they can do THAT, I can do anything I set my mind to.
