We had the good fortune of connecting with Bridget Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bridget, how does your business help the community?
My business, as a professional piercer, helps the community by offering a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can express themselves through piercings, while also providing important services like gender-affirming care, helping people celebrate their culture, or an act of body reclamation. I prioritize safety, consent, and human connection in every piercing I perform, ensuring that my clients have peace of mind knowing they are in good hands.

I also recognize that piercings can be an empowering form of self-expression. My goal is to create a space where people from all walks of life can explore and express their identity in a supportive and respectful environment.

Beyond the physical service, I provide a space where my clients feel heard and seen, validating their personal journeys and helping them feel comfortable in their own skin. Whether it’s through a piercing that reflects their true self or simply by offering an environment where they can express who they are, I am proud to contribute to a more inclusive and accepting community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started piercing immediately after the Covid-19 pandemic, which presented its own challenges navigating what felt like two new worlds. I spent the first 6 months of my career working a second job to support myself while studying jewelry, piercing techniques, marketing, and business management. There were many hard moments and at no point did I ever think it was easy but it always felt worth it. I learned quickly that the most important quality to possess as a small business creative is resilience. Having the ability to keep working towards my goals even when things are hard or seem out of reach and taking every challenge as a lesson to learn and grow has gotten me to where I am now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohio offers so many options for entertainment and dining. Some of my favorites to show my friends and family that visit are Jungle Jim’s, Kitty Brew Cafe, Otherworld’s Interactive Art Museum, Mixwell’s Northside, and Lucky Dog Grille.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m a firm believer that success is shared and it takes a village. My mom, Lisa, has always been my biggest supporter in everything I do. I wouldn’t be half the person I am without her and her unwavering support. My community here in Ohio and everyone at Every Body Tattoo have all become the family I didn’t know I needed. My dear friend, Kenneth Crespo, who fundamentally changed how I approach piercing and client interaction. My friends, Sasha, Manuel, Autymn, Wesley, Dano, Jakob, and Travis, who all have been and continue to be mentors to me in their own rights. Finally, I am so eternally grateful and owe so much of my successes to my clients who all have allowed me into their lives and trusted me with their piercings.
