Meet Adam Pastors and Robert Oriti | Owner/Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Pastors and Robert Oriti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam and Robert, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We wanted to start our own business because we were eager to take control of our own success and shape our future on our terms. Our passion for interior design and creating beautiful, functional spaces was something we couldn’t fully explore within the constraints of a traditional job. By starting our own business, we gained the freedom to merge creativity with entrepreneurial spirit, allowing us to craft unique and personalized spaces that truly reflect our vision and values. This venture not only aligns with our personal interests but also empowers us to make a meaningful impact in the design world.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is not your run of the mill interior design firm. We love mixing pieces that help tell a client’s story with pieces that create a functional and perfect for you space. Business-wise, we got to where we are by being authentic to ourselves, our clients and our brand and it was NOT easy. When we first started out, it was hard to turn down work that didn’t feel authentic to our brand. We quickly learned that staying true to yourself and saying “no” to things that aren’t aligned with your vision and your values will not only set you apart, it will set you up for success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, this is a great question!
We would start by taking them to the beach. Yes, Cleveland has a beach! We are fortunate enough to have our own beach on our lane and we absolutely love spending time down there. We would show them the West Side Market and eat lunch in Ohio City at Nate’s Deli, or Tremont at The Rowley Inn. Later that night, we would have cocktails and dinner at one of our favorite spots, Luxe Kitchen & Lounge.
Day 2, we would snag a breakfast sandwich at Martha on the Fly, and hit University Circle for a day at the museums followed by dinner in Little Italy at Etna or Maxi’s.
Day 3, we would head down to Chagrin Falls for breakfast at Yours Truly and shopping in their picturesque downtown. We’d stop for a mid-day pick-me-up at Heartwood Coffee and head back to freshen up for dinner. We would likely go to Il Rione for a pizza, or Soho Chicken + Whiskey. After dinner, a drink at Jukebox on the patio.
Day 4, let’s head downtown! There are so many fun hidden gems in downtown Cleveland to explore. We would unwind the day with a nice dinner and drinks at Marble Room for steak and sushi.
Day 5, a day to relax. We would make sure we’d make reservations for massages at Sacred Hour in Lakewood but not before we had a drink and a snack at Tributary. After our massages, we’d take a trip to Joe’s Deli in Rocky River to have some lunch and after, relax on the beach at home with a bonfire.
Day 6. We’d start the day with a hike in Cuyahoga Valley National Park or skip the hike and immediately head to breakfast at The Blue Door Cafe. After breakfast, we would take a walk through the gardens at Stan Hywett Hall & Gardens. Dinner back up in Cleveland at Zhug and cocktails at The Fairmount would finish off the night.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, the person that we would like to shout out is our mentor and local restaurateur, Melissa Cole of Luxe Kitchen and Lounge. Her continued guidance and sound advice has been something that we as small business owners have held dear for years.
Also, two other special people that need to be mentioned are Brenda Kirk and Anne Hartnett. These women have made a tremendous impact on our business journey. Their experiences and mentorship over the years have been invaluable. It’s so important to have someone who not only shares their knowledge but also genuinely supports and guides you and we are lucky enough to have three strong independent women in our lives. All three have been pivotal in our growth and success. The best part of it, we get to call all three of these people, friends.
