Meet Alex Crawley | Children’s Clothing Designer and Founder of PB & Jammies

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Crawley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because it allowed me to combine two of my greatest passions: motherhood and crafting. As a mother, I understand the importance of comfort, style, and uniqueness when it comes to dressing our little ones. Creating handmade children’s clothing allows me to channel my creativity into making clothing that not only looks adorable but is also comfortable and practical for kids.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At PB & Jammies, it’s not just about children’s clothing; it’s about creating cherished moments and unforgettable childhood experiences while fostering environmental growth. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to handmade quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Our dedication to crafting each piece with love and attention to detail is what truly distinguishes us. We believe that children deserve clothing that not only looks adorable but also feels incredibly comfortable, allowing them to move freely and explore the world around them. It’s this belief that drives us to use only the softest, highest-quality, and eco-friendly materials for our creations.

What makes us most proud is the smiles we bring to both parents and children alike. When we receive heartwarming photos and messages from satisfied customers, it fills our hearts with happiness. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, gosh! So much comes to mind! Dayton, Ohio is full of history and majority of the atmosphere sticks to that theme.

For activities, I would suggest a visit to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, a fascinating and educational experience for all ages and its FREE!

Explore Carillon Historical Park, which brings history to life with interactive exhibits.

There are TONS of charming shops in the Oregon District. I LOVE shopping there.

Any of the Five Rivers MetroParks are gorgeous and serene, perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride.

Scene75 Entertainment Center. It’s an indoor playground with arcade games, go-karts, laser tag, and more.

For food, I would head to the Carillon Brewing Co. for a family-friendly lunch and try some historically inspired brews.

Old Scratch Pizza. This is hands-down my favorite pizza spot, ever!

Penny Lane Art Gallery and Coffee is in
the rural area of New Carlsile, but worth the extra drive outside of Dayton for their monthly specialty coffee flights and avocado toast. Also, the owner is the sweetest person in that town!

I am a huge fan of unique food dishes, so I highly recommend Coco’s Bistro, Wheat Penny and Lily’s, known for their delicious dishes with local ingredients.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
