Meet Allison Day

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work/ life balance is an incredible subject. Being a woman is such a multifaceted subject, as well. In my early years I thought I would just become a mother, and that was good enough. Once I became a mother I was reborn. That’s the most interesting thing about growing up. You realize you are capable of so much more than you could imagine initially. I never thought of the days after my goal of becoming a mom was completed. You never think you’ll one day be past your accomplished dream. I said, “Now what?” I stayed home in their early years, but I felt I was not hitting my true potential. I dove into my creative mind, I started painting murals, which turned into home design and home flips. Things that are esthetically pleasing bring me true peace. My love for design grew and I then went to the exterior part of design by running a pool company. My number one goal is my children, but always choose to do a little more and you can conquer the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a mother who grew with no true professional training. I started painting murals on a bigger scale in rooms, because I genuinely loved to paint. The love for creating beauty grew. I met an incredible construction team, Creative Construction, without them I would not be where I am today. While they worked on my home I would drive them absolutely nuts with questions. They were always willing to share their knowledge with me. I began to understand the actual function of interior design. I was born with the god given talent of eye for color and genuine taste. However, I truly became a professional when I understood the true function. The blending of function and beauty is what makes something work.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friends were coming to visit town we would head to Tippecanoe Country Club to play some tennis- get moving and enjoy brunch and a cocktail after. We would then go get some afternoon coffees at Stone Fruit. Lastly, we would grab up some dinner reservations at Aqua Pazzo, and enjoy the beautiful outdoor patio.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Nicholas Dubecky, my partner in the pool business.
Thank you for your deepest depths of trust and believing in me. We have built our own empire, in which I will always be extremely proud. Thanks for picking me up when I was down, and saying you are good enough. Together we have a bright future in the business, and I am excited to see the opportunities we will come across. Thanks for always making it a “we,” problem, or success. This partnership is truly inspiring.
