Meet Andrea Oliver | Skincare consultant & Founder of ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ skincare

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Oliver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ helps our community by partnering up with local vendors and sourcing our ingredients from local businesses in the northeast Ohio area. We also educate those that are interested about our animals that are considered endangered species in our northeast Ohio area, what conservations they have last been spotted at, and what we can do to help conserve endangered species in our environment. We also help ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ by educating our audience on the importance of recycling, encouraging them to minimalize the use of plastics, understanding ingredients and what ingredients to avoid as pertaining to skincare.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Letโs say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely start by taking them to the local area I grew up at which is Coventry Village located in Cleveland heights. This area is hip, cool and trendy, and most importantly its diverse, multi cultural, and loving. Coventry village supports local business like my own. We’d definitely do some shopping at ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ which is a cool boutique shop to grab some sage, get some hip stylish yoga pants, and explore other cool meditation props. Personally this is where I shop to get all of my bohemian style wardrobe. I would take them to ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐’๐ฌ ๐๐๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฒ on Fairmount &cedar which showcases an outside patio to grab breakfast and chillout in the sun by flowers and birds. I would than take them to ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฌ for lunch on Coventry road – a small mom & pop restaurant that’s been there for over 50 years and a staple in the Coventry village community and has the best Chocolate Vegan milkshakes! And for dinner I would go to ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ cocktail spot which has a cool outside patio bar to grab a Corona with lime and grub. I also would probably alternate between the Fairmount & barrio which is directly next to each other and equally as good. ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ฌ tends to be more cost efficient if your looking to grab a couple tacos and a margarita or something quick. When I want a late night snack and a beer I’d probably go to ๐๐ก๐ ๐ค๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐จ๐ง located on intersection of Kensington & Lee rd. by Cleveland heights high school because they tend to stay open afterhours when other bars are closed. Its super intimate and friendly and it feels like a little hideaway for locals to come and chillout. If I’m feeling fancy, I’d go to ๐’๐๐๐๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ restaurant in the midtown district which highlights French cuisine. My favorite dish there is the Duck confit, try it! If were looking for a fun spot to hangout, intermingle, and meet some cool people, we would for sure have to go to ๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ bar located on Coventry. Its an underground bar that showcases local talent every Tuesday night with a “Open mic” session for all musicians and artist looking to express themselves poetically and lyrically or just hangout and observe others do the same. All of these places are local, and the coolest spots in town and I enjoy supporting my community.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout to Ash the founder of MADE CLEVELAND, a company designed to highlight, mentor, and support over 50 local vendors in northeast Ohio. This was the first store to carry ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ skincare and still does to this day! Ash opened this story front as a temporary way to support small local businesses in 2020 during the Covid19 pandemic crisis. And now is a permanent store located on Coventry road in the Coventry Village area (Hint: its located where the old City buddha store used to be). Ash and I started our businesses at about the same time and I love how I’ve watched her grow as a mom, a business owner, and a woman owned powerhouse. She continues to inspire and support others.
