Meet Angel Wright | CEO of A&R Xperience

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I can remember I have always had a yearning to use my creativity to bring things to life. As a child my mother gave me the best Holiday experiences and Birthday parties. I come from a very large family so making memories and spending time with those I care about, is something I really enjoy! As I got older, I realized the feeling I got from those moments extended well beyond just family but also to friends, coworkers and strangers I would meet in passing. I love to share my energy and ideas with other people and that is what led me into my current career paths. Being responsible for producing fun, extraordinary, and feel-good events, has allowed me to use my creativity in ways I would have never imagined. Being able to wake up every day and enjoy doing the things I love, is truly a blessing that I do not take for granted,
What should our readers know about your business?
I believe what sets us apart from the others is that we try to create experiences that are fresh, memorable and social media attractive. We keep in mind that people are what make the experience itself but first we start with setting the tone by finding the perfect venues. We have sold out of many of our events in the past and receive lots of positive feedback, so that lets me know that we are on the right track.
It has not been easy to run this business while still having a 9-5 career, being a mom and fiancé, having a social life outside of business and spending time with friends and family. It takes a lot of balance, patience and understanding. Having a partner in this business helps on the days that seem overwhelming and I always have someone I can look to for support, ideas and to run the show if need be.
I have learned that as long as you do things with good intentions, the right mindset, focus and determination, what you are trying to accomplish is well within reach. Over the years my vision has surprised even me! I cannot wait to show the world what’s next.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to The Placebo Bar, Jesters Cigar Lounge, or some fun happy hour events that may be going on during that time of year at different locations throughout the city.
Some of my favorite places to eat are Wild Ginger, SOB Steakhouse, El Asadero Mexican Bar & Grill, just to name a few.
Football season is really exciting when it comes to tailgating before the games and we would have a great time at a Who Dey Chick & Cool Kid tailgate party at Longworth Hall.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are several people I would like to thank for inspiring my growth and helping me over the years: Darlando Dennard, Associate Director of Admissions of The Ohio Media School, Wendy Cyrus-Herndon, Senior Director of Marketing at Urban One, Robert Rodgers , Co-Founder of A&R Xperience, and the men, women and families of Cincinnati that I have been blessed to be able to serve over the years.
Mr. Dennard was the driving force behind my pursuit into media and is the person who put me in a position to be seen by the right individuals to jumpstart my media & entertainment career. Wendy has been an amazing mentor since the day I began in media while at Urban One. Having a solid, encouraging business partner makes all the difference in the world. Rob Rodgers was very instrumental in A&R Xperience coming to life. Without him, A&R Xperience would not exist. And lastly, I believe that your success will only take you as far as the community you serve, will allow it to go. The people I have been able to reach and provide a service to are everything to me and without them I would not be able to do what I do and for all these people I am grateful.
