We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, what principle do you value most?
The principle that Inflate Ur Fun stands on that matters most to me is that when we come out to your events, we don’t want to just focus solely on the kids to have fun. We strive to see everyone up, active, and having a good time or at least resting from having a good time with our attractions.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Inflate Ur Fun is an event planning business that I started solely just to find a way to hang out with a friend but to also be able to make money while doing it. After becoming so vested and seeing the reaction I was getting from parents due to the reaction from their kids, I knew this was something I had to take further. It most definitely was not easy. I got to where I am now by constantly having conversations with close associates of the business. They would remind me when to slow down and be patient about certain things. They would also reassure me of a good idea when I doubt myself. I learned to pace myself and not overthink things. I’m reminded to not stretch myself thin and to let my product speak for itself and to be able to give people time to react to new products or announcements before I present another one. I want the world to know that we want everyone up and active at events, not just the kids. I want to be remembered for not only supplying fun memories to kids but to give the opportunity for adults to be able to reminisce on the times they had as kids with our attractions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting from out of town I would most definitely take them downtown to tour the city using the streetcar. I would also take them to Union Terminal. I would make sure they eat all the different food staples of the city like gold star, skyline, white castles, and larosas. I would also make sure I stop at some ma and pop restaurants like a Adriatico’s or the local eatery’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
While most people would want to give me all the credit for Inflate Ur Fun’s success, this could not have been achieved without the help of a few people.I would like to recognize my business advisor/mentor, Bob Leslie. Bob was a mentor from a program called “Score”. Score has a variety of volunteers from different walks of life that can be assigned to individuals for mentorship. After our relationship grew stronger from the many conversations had, I decided to ask if he would take on the role as my business advisor. Thankfully he accepted.
I would also give credit to an entrepreneurial program I went through called “Mortar”. Mortar is a 15 week course that molds business owners to be able to comfortably pitch their business idea to classmates and next to a selection of judges. I feel that Mortar gave me “a voice and a platform” to be able to tell the world about my baby(business),and be comfortable doing it.
