Meet Antwain Shaw-Huff | Muralist/Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Antwain Shaw-Huff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antwain, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My Though process has always been very tedious in terms of work ethic and how consistent one person can be when it come to something from the heart. Consistency has always been key to me in terms of executing greatness your craft. Most people have lots of artist blocks or and optical that could stop your work or keep it going but if you have your mind set on consistency, You’ll win Big.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Before the arts i worked at a place called “Elementz Hip-Hop and Respect” Its was and organization that helped creatives in all the arts build and further their crafts. I took advantage by going and learning more about art and eventually offered a mentor that was managing the architecture firm above the “Elements location, His name was Nicholas Carr. We would convers on the connection of the arts and Architecture and see the greatness in both fields. I would than go on to work for the “Elementz” location as front desk receptionist where i would sometimes get to teach art on Thursdays ,work receptionist at decent times and also work in one of the studios that the center provides.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I often show my friends around the city of Cincinnati when i have free time or even friends in town. The nicest spot i enjoy taking my friends to is the “Black Coffee shop” Down town Cincinnati Ohio. I’ve created my first mural there and as it grows old i still love to invite people to join me, only because i understand the our eyes keep this art alive. I also live to invite people to ” Charlie Lou’s” Where one could get great soul food and cool-Aid!!! I also have a exterior Mural and a interior mural at this location that took about 2 months to finish. The art is beautiful and the food is amazing

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Greater City of Cincinnati has always been a great place to me because in manways its became my own little art gallery and Best of family. I’ve grown here from birth, I’ve also attended highs cool and Extended my college career here in Cincinnati As well. The Greater people of Cincinnati has grown to be my family in the world of art as far as support and The love of seeing my career reach many heights in this life. I’ve earned many award for the arts and Also qualified as Gifted From the Ohio Department of Education, in many ways i am very appreciative of!
