Hi Ashley Rector, what do you attribute your success to?
Personally, mindset has been the biggest factor in my success. There wasn’t an obstacle I couldn’t overcome. Even in the most dire of situations I still believed there was a way out, up and that anything was possible.

The most important factor behind the success of Quimby Digital is our unwavering commitment to understanding and meeting the unique needs of our clients. This client-centric approach has been instrumental in shaping our strategies and driving our growth.

Our business is all about helping brands shine in the crowded, ever-changing world of social media marketing and paid advertising. One of the things I’m most proud of is the incredible team we’ve built. Our talented designers, copywriters, and strategists are not just experts in their fields—they’re also passionate about making a difference for our clients. Seeing our team collaborate and create magic is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

The Journey

I started my professional career as an attorney with a deep thirst to make a difference in the world. With that passion, I launched Harness Magazine. It’s a digital and print magazine that shares the authentic stories of women from around the world. I build, scaled and sold that company to a wonderfully ambitious young woman who is doing amazing things with it today. Harness was built on social media marketing so when the company was sold – it only made sense to start consulting in social media marketing. Building Quimby into the social media marketing agency it is today was no easy feat but it is exactly built how I believe agencies should be run – with a positive work culture – a deep belief that work and life should be integrated to support one another – and extreme customer centric approach. We operate as your in-house social team.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and adaptability. The digital marketing landscape is constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires a commitment to continuous learning and innovation. Another key lesson is the power of strong relationships. Building trust with our clients has been fundamental to our success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cleveland Ohio has its own story of resilience and you can see it in so many pockets of the city. I would visit the beautiful Huntington Beach park and take in the waves. I would take them down the Detroit shore-way to take in the downtown views and experience E. 4th and a comedy show at Hilarities. We would attend a baseball game and cheer on the Cleveland Guardians. Dinner in little Italy at Guardinos on the patio would be a must followed by an espresso and a cannoli at Presti’s Bakery.

The next morning we would wake up and stop by Emilie’s Coffee House in Avon Lake – run into a dozen friends who grab cinnamon rolls and hot latte’s there every morning. Take a stroll in our neighborhood and catch up on old times.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the most cliché way possible, I want to give a shoutout to all the fairytales and rich histories we read as little girls—stories of princes slaying dragons, women monarchs ruling with absolute power, and tales that always ended happily. You deeply instilled in me the belief that anything is possible and that I am the hero of my own story.
