We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asia, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
“As a parent and entrepreneur, I believe the most impactful decision I’ve made for my children has been starting my own business. When I took the leap of faith and ventured into entrepreneurship, I wasn’t just pursuing a career; I was laying the foundation for a generational impact on my family, especially my two sons. By starting my business, I’ve shown them firsthand the value of ambition, hard work, and perseverance. They’ve witnessed the challenges and triumphs that come with building something from the ground up. More importantly, I’ve been able to instill in them the belief that taking risks and following your passions can lead to fulfilling and successful outcomes.

Beyond the financial aspects, starting my business has allowed me to prioritize flexibility and family time. I’ve been able to create a work environment that aligns with our family values, emphasizing the importance of balance and quality time together. This has strengthened our bond and given my children a sense of security and stability. Ultimately, starting my business has been more than a career move; it’s been a transformative experience that has shaped not only my professional life but also the way I parent and the future I envision for my children.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart is that we make sure that we don’t have the same product that every photo booth company has. We constantly have our ear to the world, and we have mentors all around the world. They let us know what’s new or what’s coming, and we try to be the first people to bring those types of experiences to Columbus, OH. I’m very proud about the different experiences, equipment, and products that we’re investing in and introducing to Columbus, our thriving city. I got where I am today by constantly bringing the best products and services to Columbus, OH. Something worth having is never easy. The road is never easy. I just know that I am bringing something unique to my city and that people depend on me to do that. What I’ve learned along the way is being consistent and networking is the most important thing to having a successful business. H&H Luxury Events is Columbus, Ohio’s one and only event tech experience company. We pride ourselves in obtaining the most interactive, innovative experiences in the world and introducing it to our city.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Columbus, OH has so many unique and fun things to do and it really just depends on the time of the year that they’re coming. I think we have one of the best haunted houses, and I love haunted houses and scary stuff. However, aside from the haunted house and those experiences, I love the Dublin Bridge and the farmers market that happens there. We also have a really cool virtual reality experience called Sandbox. I would definitely take them to Kpot which is a Korean BBQ and hotpot that is all you can eat at restaurant. As well as maybe Habibi Grill, which is a very popular Mediterranean place to eat. They would have to get ice cream from CRMB. We probably would go hang out on one of the rooftops around Columbus, OH because there’s so many bars and lounges that have beautiful rooftop experiences. The food scene here in Columbus, OH is crazy so we would really just get cute, and I would show them Easton and Polaris and just eat our way through the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a network of people who have played pivotal roles in my success. From mentors who have generously shared their wisdom and guidance, to interns whose fresh perspectives and enthusiasm have sparked new ideas, and my trusted business confidants—my ‘business besties’—who have been my sounding board and support system. But beyond these direct relationships, I’ve also been uplifted by the support of my family. Their unwavering belief in me and their encouragement during both the highs and lows have been priceless. They’ve provided the foundation of love and stability that allows me to pursue my dreams with confidence.

Additionally, the community of Columbus has been instrumental. The city’s entrepreneurial spirit and the resources available have been invaluable. Whether through networking events, business incubators, or simply the camaraderie of fellow entrepreneurs, Columbus has fostered an environment where innovation and growth thrive. Together, these individuals and communities have not only supported my professional journey but have also enriched my personal growth. They’ve taught me the importance of collaboration, resilience, and the power of community. I am deeply grateful for their contributions to my success and look forward to paying it forward by continuing to support and uplift others in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
