We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Grywalski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Becky, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing I think outsiders are probably unaware of, is how much time and education we put into becoming the best stylist to keep up on the current hair trends.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career involves being a hairstylist behind the chair four days a week. I also get to educate our associates while working daily for 6-9 months, teaching them everything I know about hair and how to be a great hairstylist as well. I also have a group of 9 ladies that I get to coach monthly and help them work towards promotions and help with any salon challenges they may encounter. I’m also a salon shareholder and get to help with decision-making for the salon if needed. This hasn’t always been an easy task getting where I am. I have had 3 babies and 3 maternity leaves to rebuild from, and being a mommy I’ve had to make decisions to leave and take classes out of state to better myself to provide more for my family. But, I wouldn’t change a thing I’ve been all over the US for exciting classes being hands on with hair in New York city to sitting in hair classes, leadership classes and business classes out in Las Vegas and Florida.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all we would go to my favorite local coffee shop in Wadsworth, King Street Cafe. And visit some cute stores/boutiques in the downtown area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My salon owners and coaches at Bellezza Avanti spa/salon- I wouldn’t be where I am today without all their support and guidance.
