We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany Botts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bethany, what do you attribute your success to?
The success of my cleaning company is driven by the strong team I’ve built around me and our clear vision for high cleaning standards. Each team member must understand and believe in our purpose—to care for our clients and their guests by providing spotless, inviting spaces. Our work goes beyond just cleaning; it’s about creating stress-free, welcoming environments for people in all kinds of situations. Once the team grasps this deeper purpose, they take pride in their work, reflecting the core values of our company. This sense of ownership and pride is key to our success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career is based in hospitality. I have always loved hosting people in my own home and so being in the hospitality field has come very naturally to me. What sets me apart from others is this incredible desire to do things and to do them well. I care very much about quality. Maybe even to a fault, but I just can’t help it. I want our work to speak for itself. I want all the details to shine through and for everyone to immediately notice wow, this space is incredible and spotless. What I am most proud of is that I haven’t given up. Running a business is hard. VERY HARD! There are many times I have asked myself what have I gotten myself into. But then I hear stories of how my employees paid off their vehicles or paid of a debt they had or just how working for my company is their full-time job. I can’t believe people’s families are paying their everyday bills and providing for their families because I said yes to stepping out of my comfort zone. It blows my mind. I’m truly honored to do life with my team. I would never give up on them. They are incredible humans who inspire me everyday. I would never give up on this company I have built. I just care way to much. I am the most excited about the growth that we have had over the last six months. The amount of properties we have taken on, the amount of referrals, the new properties I know that are coming soon. It’s all very exciting. I would also be lying if I didn’t say it’s also a little scary at times. Sometimes when people bring jobs to us I think oh my gosh how are we going to pull this one off. But we do. I feel like we can handle anything that is thrown at us at this point. The growth is incredible. But hey that’s what makes it fun! We have a full staff now, my husband will be leaving his full-time position at Miami University in April and coming to work at 2BCleaned. That alone is mind blowing to me. Watching all of our cleaning techs grow in their craft and begin to get behind our vision here it’s all very exciting to me. I really do have a hard time believing how fast we have grown and where this has taken me. All of the incredible people I have met. The beautiful space we have been entrusted to clean. Truly it’s been a great journey. I got to where I am professionally today because I believed I could, so I did. I have this weird characteristic about myself that I believe everything is figure-out-able. That’s what business is right. It’s constantly coming against a problem and then putting all your effort into figuring it out at times. That and surrounding myself with people who support me, who may be better then me in some areas, and who are willing to figure it out with me step by step. It is not easy. If it was everyone would do it. But who you surround yourself with matters. The team of people, your mindset, their mindset it all matters. That’s how you overcome. Thats the biggest lesson I have learned. Surrounding yourself with the right people can make or break you. Also, I don’t have all the answers, and that’s ok. I want the world to know that we’re here to stay. At 2BCleaned we start at above and beyond. We are the best out there. We do what we say and ultimately, we care. We care about our standards, and your space you have invited us into. If you call on us, you can rest assured we won’t let you down.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting and we were planning a trip I would start out by renting the coolest air bnb possible we could find. I love themed air bnbs. So, we would find one that was super girly and feminine. I have three boys and a husband, so this is not the normal choice for my family. After we found a really fun air bnb we would spend the day probably at a local spa getting facials and our hair or nails done together. Maybe even treat us to a hot stone massage. (Oh my wouldn’t that be nice) Being a mom of three and owning a business there isn’t much pamper time for yourself. My best friend also owns her own business in Columbus Ohio, BBBYAndiLayne, so I’m sure she would enjoy a little pampering as well. We would find an incredible sushi place and eat till we were overly stuffed, enjoy a nice glass or two of some wine and maybe find a place that was playing live music or karaoke together somewhere in downtown Cincinnati. I love downtown Cincinnati. There some really interesting places to eat, its home of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds. The large ferris wheel or helicopter rides around downtown are incredible as well. It would be a day to remember for sure! Then we would be back to our air bnb, with matching pajamas on and just hang out and catch up. I’m a pretty easy-going person so not much fluff for me. Just good food and good company is all I need.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I think about who I want to shout-out the first person that comes to mind is Jeff Anders. Jeff was the first owner of an air bnb that I ever cleaned for. His tiny little two-bedroom one bathroom home in Ross Ohio is where this all started. This craft that I have fallen in love with and feel like I have perfected all started at Cottage on Main. It’s still my favorite property to this day. Jeff completely allowed me the freedom to create a system of cleaning that really works for air bnbs. He didn’t micro manage me one time. He gave me space to figure it out and to grow into this rhythm that really worked for both his business and our long term partnership together. I understood very early on that he was trusting me with way more then cleaning. He was trusting me with his property, his guest reviews and a huge part of the guest experience fully. He has always been an incredible cheerleader and support for me. He is the person that asked me “have you ever thought about hiring people and creating this into an actual business?” And the answer was yes! I had just been to scared to actually say it out loud!! I have called Jeff and asked his business guidance so many times. He never fails to offer wisdom, and a caring heart. And a clear sense of advice when I’m not sure what direction to turn to next. He always brings a sense of clarity and wisdom. I have watched Jeff weather many trials himself both personally and professionally. I have observed him and how he handles situations, how he treats everyone with respect and kindness and grace. And I have learned way more then he even realizes from him. I really do owe a lot to him. I always tell him he is one of the nicest people I know, and he laughingly replies every time with “let’s keep that between us, I have a reputation to uphold.” 2BCleaned as a team, and I myself, will will forever be grateful for the impact Jeff has had on our success.
