We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobbi & Jeff Noe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobbi & Jeff, what do you attribute your success to?
We are dedicated to creating a personalized experience for each guest during their stay at the Inn with the goal of exceeding expectations, creating lasting memories and a desire to return. The Inn promises Relaxation.Redefined. This is the foundation upon which everything we do is built from the facility design, decor, activities, and food.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
From the Inn’s “official greeters” – Wrigley, our miniature Australian Shepherd, and Dakota, our Golden Retriever puppy, to the many outdoor living spaces or “rooms” that our guests can escape to, there are many things that make the Welsh Hills Inn unique among B&B’s. The Inn houses a very large collection of original art in a variety of media, pieces dating back to the 1800s to the present day, the majority by Ohio artists. Guests love to roam about taking them all in. For such a small B&B, we offer an extensive variety of special touch add-ons and packages. Guests may select one or a variety to further personalize and enhance their stay. A few examples include massages, personalized yoga, bike rentals, flowers, local chocolates, target and clays shooting, fishing in our stocked pond, snow tubing, and a multitude of specially designed packages for elopements, intimate weddings, celebrations, retreats, honeymoons, and so much more. With large indoor spaces and 15 acres, the Inn provides significant space for guests to roam, relax, and get away within the property itself. We have created numerous indoor and outdoor living spaces for our guests to seek out and enjoy.

Getting the Welsh Hills name out to people to grow the business was our biggest challenge. One of the most effective means to accomplish this was the utilization and partnership with TripAdvisor and Google. As our guests began leaving reviews on each, word of mouth began to spread. In 2015, just 5 years after opening our doors, TripAdvisor named the Welsh Hills Inn as the #1 B&B/Inn in the U.S., and in 2017, we were rated #4 in the World. Today, and for the past 10 years straight, we continue to be named TripAdvisor’s “The Best of the Best”. “We are quite proud of our thousands of 5-star ratings and realize new reviews are still very important for our continued success and recognition in the industry.”

Day 6: Golf on One of the Top Rated Public Golf Courses in the Area
• Denison Golf Club at Granville – Located in Granville, Ohio, just 5 minutes from The Inn, it was designed by Donald Ross and constructed in 1924. This premier course exemplifies his philosophy of using the natural rolling, wooded terrain to create settings for each hole, with elevated and undulating greens and artfully placed sand bunkers. While challenging to the most experienced golfer, a choice of 4 tee positions gives every skill level an opportunity to enjoy a pleasurable round of golf. A spacious shelter house with kitchen and restroom facilities is available for golf outings.
• The Virtues Golf Club – In 2016, The Golf Magazine named The Virtues Golf Club, the Number One public golf course in Ohio, and no. 70 in Top 100 Courses You Can Play, by Golf Magazine 2016 – 2017. Golf Digest ranked the Virtues Golf Club No. 74 in America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses. As we continue Longaberger Golf Club for preeminent Ohio golf tradition and outstanding guest service, see what’s new at your No. 1 Public Golf Course in Ohio. Located just 25 minutes from The Inn, The Virtues’ spectacular Arthur Hills-designed championship golf course with an upscale banquet and event amenities, delicious dining, and a variety of player development programs offer any golfers a great reason to visit.
• The Links at Echo Springs – The Links at Echo Springs is a golf facility that lies on acres of scenic countryside in Johnstown, Ohio – just 9 minutes from The Inn. The course gives the golfer a feeling that is not found anywhere else in the country. The Links at Echo Springs is a unique, Barry Serafin-designed course. It is blessed with natural rolling terrain cut through mature hardwood forests with just the right blend of links style to provide a sensational golfing experience. The Links is equipped with a driving range where you can sharpen your skills or take a lesson from one of their P.G.A. Golf Professionals.
• New Albany Links – New Albany Links is a semi-private Golf Club located in New Albany, Ohio located 28 minutes from The Inn. Designed by Barry Serafin in 2000, New Albany Links Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling hills covered with meandering creeks, mature trees, and native grasses and wetlands. There are also a number of lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a fair challenge, but it prides itself on its playability. The golf course is open to the public yet still has that country club feel and playability. With its naturally rolling terrain, meandering creeks, lakes, wetlands, native grasses, and mature trees, the New Albany Links Golf Course offers a great challenge for golfers of all different abilities.
