We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Lucas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to pursue artistic endeavors mainly because I am an artist by nature. As a child, I had shown talent and enthusiasm pertaining to my art. I have been lucky enough to have adults around to nourish my drawing, writing and craft making and as I grew older i developed passions as a mature adult. Photography really stuck because as soon as I picked up a camera, I felt so excited and moreover was able to flourish in competition. Somewhere along the line I had the realization that an artist must be passionate about their art.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I want the world to know that I am no different than any other person in regards to my story. My passion in my professional life, personal life and all endeavors drives me to be as authentic as possible. It is not easy because I have to continue to constantly grow and improve myself; mentally, physically and emotionally. That will then change and elevate all aspects of my life. That is something that I am happy to be able to do; change adapt and grow.

One of the main lessons I have learned and would like to share is that we all have power to change our destiny.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are definitely starting our night out at a local dive bar for local foods and local drinks. From there we are gallery visiting, shopping or doing something that you can only do in that city! its so important to take in what makes a city special. We’re absolutely ending our evening with a relaxing dinner! Fine food and wine is everything!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout Michelle Obamas book “Becoming”. It rejuvenated me and made my vision more clear.
