We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Styless and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve been a walking brand since 2019 and didn’t even realize it. From modeling for various brands, helping brands manage their social platforms, connecting creatives to potential opportunities around Ohio; the list goes on. I finally realized that this all fell under creative sourcing, and I ran with it. There isn’t an active “one stop shop” in my community where people are able to book someone for a creative service a month or even a day before. Booking a Creative for a project can be stressful as you risk reliability and quality of their work. I knew between the hundreds of connections I made with others and my ability to use creativity to problem solve, it was only right to start a creative sourcing business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My full-time “9-5” as some would say is in merchandising capabilities for Target. I am a Space & Presentation Business Partner in the Decorative Home division. This means that I work with multiple teams inclusive of Buyers, Marketing teams, Visual teams, etc. to execute store planograms that gets delivered to all Target stores. My career is pretty unique in a sense, due to the fact that I’m a multifaceted creative that is in Corporate America. This can be a struggle sometimes with time management and prioritizing workload day after day. I almost always get questions like why I don’t focus on one thing at once, or if I ever think I’ll experience burnt out. The answer is always no. I know the countless hours, tears, sweat and ambition it takes to do what I do. And that’s why I am the person I am today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends come visit, I always love a good dinner date! Any restaurant on High St., Downtown Columbus is a pretty good option. Although I am a sucker for a good wine tasting at Cooper’s Hawk in Easton! We would definitely have to take a trip to Penn & Beech where you can create your own candle or go to Woodhouse Spa to relax and recharge. And then, we’d end the night at a bar or lounge (HydeOut, Noir, FORUM or DoubleTake).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It may sound cliche, but my mom has truly always been my inspiration. Growing up, my mom has always raised me to be able to hold my own, give grace to myself & others and work hard. She has always played a “momager” role from the time I started to become more active in gaining bookings. My mom would do anything big or small to help me accomplish my goals from forwarding me potential booking opportunities to something as simple as a “did you forget to_____” text. My mom has never doubted my ability to pursue multiple creative opportunities at once; and because of that, she gets all the credit/recognition in my story.
