Meet Brittany Meister | Wedding Planner & Florist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Meister and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When it comes to owning your own business, it’s basically a double edge sword. In one hand you get flexibility throughout your day, but on the other hand, you work far more hours than you ever did before, and are constantly thinking of new ways to innovate your business and make things better for both you and the client. In my opinion though, this isn’t a bad thing. Most people who go into business for themselves are so passionate about what they are doing, at the end of the day, the long hours really don’t feel like work and they wouldn’t trade it in for anything else. There is always a never ending list of things to accomplish, but I think finding the right clients that give you grace and flexibility to live your personal life is what counts.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Recently, I’m most excited about adding florals into my business. As a designer taking care of all things aesthetic for people’s weddings, it felt like the most natural addition. I’ve always loved creating with my hands and florals gave me that opportunity to flex and grow a different creative muscle that will continue to get better and better with time, which is truly so fun.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and small circle of friends who always support me and are there to tell me truths. It’s so important to have people around you who are honest even if it may hurt your feelings or be the opposite of an idea you had. People who just agree with you no matter what don’t always have your best interest in mind. I’m thankful for my people and how they’ve helped me grow with lots of tough love.
