We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassidy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music has always inspired me. I knew I was gifted with a talent at a young age but at the same time, I was a very shy person. I knew I needed to challenge myself in order to build my self confidence. I think back to when me and my sisters started, “performing concerts” for the neighbors in our front yard. After that, I wanted to take an even bigger step to help me get out of my comfort zone. In 6th and 7th grade, I sang in my middle school’s talent shows. I continued to participate in them after moving from Pennsylvania to Ohio, all the way up until I graduated high school. I also took it upon myself to start writing original music at 13 years old and even took a few guitar lessons as well!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most of my songwriting comes from my own personal experiences. I love writing music that other people can relate to. That to me is extremely rewarding. I’m most proud of my songwriting and my original music. I enjoy continuing to explore different genres as well as taking on new opportunities that are presented to me. Performing live is something I always look forward to. I love connecting with an audience and that experience alone gives me an adrenaline rush that I can’t explain. I think consistency is really important as well. The more opportunities that are presented to me, the more motivated I become. It continues to push me to be better:

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think Northeast Ohio is a hidden gem. I’m always bragging about it. I recommend visiting in the summer because you can get a little bit of everything here! As far as downtown Cleveland, I like visiting The Flats. Lakewood is a cute area too. The Solstice Steps in Lakewood is a perfect spot to watch the sunset in the summer. It’s so peaceful and I enjoy going there to write music or just simply clear my mind. Put in Bay is a cool spot if you like boating, live music, and swim up bars. If you like to do some bike riding or go on walks you can visit Metro Parks. Cedar Point is worth checking out if you like amusement parks. I could name so many things. From chains to local spots, there is a lot to explore here, especially during the summer!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to shout out my two sisters Corrine and Bella. All three of us share a musical gift. We grew up singing together and the bond we share has led us to some amazing opportunities. We’ve made some pretty incredible memories. They inspire me so much. Even though we all live separate lives these days, I have to acknowledge where it all began. My parents have always been extremely supportive of us. Anyone who supports or shows up for me will always get a shout out from me. I truly admire anyone that has shown me love. Whether it’s simply sharing a song I have released or attending a live performance of mine – either way it means the absolute world to me. I want to thank my collaborative friends Xavier Bennett (IG: @xavierbennett) and CJ Bishop (IG: officialchristianjay) for helping me bring my original music and creative ideas to life. I would like to shout out Dan Czaplicki (IG: youngcap4264_) for always inviting me to perform with other local artists around the city. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Billy Morris and the Sunset Strip for always giving me the opportunity to rock with them on stage. When I was a teenager I always wanted to be apart of a garage band. Getting to perform on stage with a band feels like a full circle moment. And I am very grateful to those who give me the opportunity to perform.
