We had the good fortune of connecting with Celine Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celine, what role has risk played in your life or career?
One of the biggest things I have put pride in, is doing things that terrify me. Each and every time, on the other side of my fears I have been faced with grace, love, and a new outlook or experience in life. DJing was a risk, during the time I was in a full time career. If I didn’t take it, I probably would be still trying to find a passion in life or possibly filling a void for my love of music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m still in the making! Right now my biggest challenge has been finding the right balance and also growing in my creative field. I work full time as an instructional coach during the week. Typically the weekends are when I can spend the most time on my craft as a DJ! I am noticing a real drive in the social media space with creating content, defining a brand, and just being consistent. Most times, this has not been easy for me. I’m still learning how to navigate both worlds effectively so that I can continue to grow in both spaces!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow! This is a loaded question for sure. I love everything Cincinnati has to offer, because there is always something to do. My favorite and most affordable stays downtown have been either at the Renaissance Hotel or the 21C Art Museum Hotel. Absolutely amazing atmosphere in both spaces! Following the check-in, I would head on over to Laveau for some Nola inspired Cuisine! If brunch is a thing, I’m definitely stopping in at Crown Republic. I would recommend some of the sports festivities based on the season from the Reds, to the Bengals, to FC! You can’t go wrong with checking out a game or attending the various tailgating that takes place in the city. If you are lucky, you can also dive into a concert series that is happening outside in Fountain Square! My personal favorite is the Salsa on the Square that takes place during the summer season. There is also ice skating and holiday fun during the winter. For a night out, I recommend dressing up cute with my bestie and hitting Nostalgia Wine Bar for an evening of great music and “grown vibes”. For more adventure I would hop over to Newport on the levee and checkout bars like Beeline that oversee the river! One of the days I would also check out Findlay Market for some shopping and fun, catching a drink and vibe at Janes right on the corner! I would also find where DJ Queen Celine is DJing for the night, because I know it will be a vibe wherever she is 😉

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Elementz Hip Hop Cultural Arts Center! I’ve met several individuals that have positively impacted my career till this day.
