Meet Chacon Carter-Jefferson | Caterer & Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chacon Carter-Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chacon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to see what it would be like to work for myself I worked for corporate America for 20 years and really wanted to take a chance on myself.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I provide soul food catering baked goods and so much more in my business. We are your one stop shop from breakfast lunch dinner to appetizers lemonade and coffee to baked cakes cookies pies we got you covered. We are here to help those that want s home cooked meal or baked treats but do not have time to get in the kitchen, I started my business in January of 2016 out of my home baking and in 2017 I got my managers ServSafe and in 2019 I rented commercial kitchen space to start the catering side of my business. I learned that I had to have patience and determination because doing this business is not easy it’s a lot of late nights early mornings and sometimes high sales and not so high sales. I love what I do so I don’t mind this that’s how I knew this is what I wanted to do when you love something you don’t care how long or hard you have to work because you enjoy it. This does not mean you won’t have days where you are not tired because you will be you just have to know when to take that time to relax and reset so you do not burn out. for me that may be a hot bath with tea after or a nice massage.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love taking my family and friends to my favorite breakfast spot German Village Cafe the people are so lovely and its like being at a family members table enjoying them the conversation and the food I love it there. I also take them to Easton mall for shopping and Coopers Hawk for wine and maybe dinner or lunch. I love J Alexanders and also Longhorn Steak House for dinner and drinks the old fashioned at Long Horn is the truth LOL, Alexanders has great food and the chocolate martinis are amazing, Kitchen social is also great for brunch and lunch they also have great mimosas. We may also take in a move at Picketfngton cinema or Easton.cinema We may even get a massage at Tranquility Day Spa or Replinish. Spa.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband Brett Jefferson definitely deserves a shout out! He has believed in my dream and did what ever he could to make sure I can achieve it, he’s been up early mornings and late nights helping me get orders ready packed up shipped out and delivered. He has helped me set up to serve food and break down at catering events and vendor events and he never complains and I’m so grateful to him and all of his help I couldn’t do this alone and he is always there for me.My Business Coach of five years Ree Williams has been a great help in my business she has taught me how to stretch myself really think and get clear about my goals and the structure of my business. I have grown a lot in my business and it’s due to all the coaching she has provided me over the years.
