We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Cropper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, why did you pursue a creative career?
It’s something I’ve been doing my whole life and it’s the one constant thing that keeps me going and that I’m good at.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been making art for close to 30 years now. My artwork is influenced by street art and graffiti and explores the human experience and our place in society. The characters in my paintings are members of the working class struggling to make it through life. I have shown my artwork all over Columbus Ohio, in New York City, Los Angeles, The Hamptons, and in Hong Kong. I have also done numerous murals which you can see throughout Columbus. I got to where I am through decades of hard work and sacrifice. It hasn’t always been easy, and it still isn’t but it’s a labor of love and it’s all I know and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my good friend and fellow artist Ryan Orewiler for the support and for recommending me for this opportunity.
