We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Nardi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The success of my book Daniels Way was made possible through Cincinnati Book Publishing. My stories are authentic, deep and truthful. Many people have a story to tell and I encourage others to write or journal your own stories because you could help others. That was my goal. Not only was it therapeutic but impactful, inspiring, and eye catching. The success I’ve gained has made me happy. Happiness is all I want and to get comments saying that my story is inspiring means a whole lot to me. Success in Daniels Way will live on forever. From a street sign to a new beginning in my own life. Unfortunately, my Uncle Dan passed away at an early age. This book has been dedicated to him. The sign represents not only my story but his name as well. I am working on my next book. The title of my next book will be “Autism is my Superpower”. I talk all about autism and how the diagnosis has affected me both positively but negatively as well. I’m excited for my next book. Make sure to read Daniels Way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe I am a voice for those who are lower functioning autism and those who struggle with severe depression. I am most proud of how I changed my life around. It was not easy. I want everyone to know that mental health is very serious and without support from others someone could take their life. I was in that position where I felt alone but I knew I had resources.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Cincinnati is a wonderful city. Many disagree but I feel like it’s home. Us in the music industry, books, or even anything you dream of… you can achieve what you want in this city. My story was shared throughout hospitals and schools so I know that I am unique and like I said, authentic. I’d like to say that IKRON cooperation, which is a mental health rehabilitation building has been a great place for support and guidance through my hard times. They offer groups, counseling, job coaching and much more. I also would recommend Westwood, which is where I reside. It is west of Cincinnati. I catch the bus downtown and go places. I love the city and the atmosphere. There’s so much to do! There’s parks, fantastic restaurants and people. The last place I like to go to is Clifton. It can be hectic and clustered but that’s where students live on campus. Even though I’m not a student I feel like I am because I’m only 23. I have plenty of time to go further with my dreams and accomplishments. This is only the beginning.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I felt as if Cincinnati Children’s psychiatry changed me at a pivotal moment in my life. I was 17 facing months in and out of the hospital missing my senior year of high school. I dedicate my book to 2SW at Cincinnati Children’s.
