Meet DAPHYA

We had the good fortune of connecting with DAPHYA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DAPHYA, what do you want your legacy to be?
I hope that people remember me for my perseverance and perpetually trying to push a positive message through my music as well as my clothing brand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is a fusion of NY/NJ hip-hop roots with broader songwriting influences. I blend introspective lyrics with fresh, experimental sounds, exploring themes of growth and ambition. My journey hasn’t been easy, but the challenges have taught me perseverance and the importance of staying true to my vision.
I’m proud of my debut album, “Phases” and the collaborations it’s led to including my latest EP with Bison.FC, “Hands of Time”. I want the world to know my music reflects my experiences and aspirations. My brand is about authenticity and the unwavering belief that anything is possible. As the self-proclaimed chubby Puerto Rican with her hair like Chaka, I want to inspire others to chase their dreams and embrace their individuality.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Aside from my family and close friends who have been with me through so many amazing point in my career, I sincerely feel the people who are no longer in my life deserve some credit as well. Situations created to stop me only made me more determined. In essence, we all are one.
