We had the good fortune of connecting with Desttany Groesser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desttany, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, I’ve come to realize that my most profound teaching moments aren’t in the words I speak, but in the life I lead. Children don’t just listen to our guidance—they watch our every move. How can I expect them to believe in the values I preach if my own actions tell a different story? By aligning my words with my actions, I show them what it truly means to live with integrity. In the end, the example I set speaks louder than any lesson I could voice

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career path has evolved into something beautifully circular, where every decision, every turn, has led me precisely to where I am today. It began in college studying accounting—a path that didn’t ignite my passion—until wise advice steered me toward learning a practical skill in the dental field. Motherhood then opened an unexpected door, awakening my love for photography. With encouragement from friends and family, I ventured into professional photography, while life’s challenges pushed me to explore wedding photography and social media management for a small painting business.
Returning to dentistry, I maintained my photography business, but after five years, I felt called to something more. Taking a leap of faith, I applied for a position that hadn’t even been created yet. Now, I’ve found myself in a role that perfectly weaves together every thread of my professional journey: managing social media for a national dental laboratory, where I combine my passion for photography, understanding of dental procedures, marketing expertise, and relationship-building skills. Looking back, taking that chance on myself wasn’t just brave—it was transformative. Sometimes the most rewarding paths aren’t straight lines but beautiful circles that bring all our experiences together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where do I even start with Cleveland? There’s so much good stuff to do! First, we’d have to hit up the metroparks – they’re absolutely gorgeous for hiking and just taking in the views. Then I’d definitely drag you to Crocker Park for some shopping and dinner. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either Condado or Kitchen Social there. One of my favorite things to do is hop on a boat to Kelleys Island – it’s just the perfect summer day! We’d cruise around the island, grab lunch at this cute winery, and you absolutely have to get ice cream at the putt putt place . If you want amazing Italian food, I’ve got this spot in Aurora that’s to die for – Cafe Toscano. Trust me on this one! And for a real night out in downtown Cleveland? RED Steakhouse followed by dancing at the Big Bang – such a blast! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the pizza places around here! Dear Mama’s in Strongsville is one of those places you just have to try. Seriously, Cleveland has a bit of everything – we know how to have a good time around here!”
