We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Bridget Cole Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Bridget, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I found a great need for patients to be seen and understood. More diverse medical options are needed that empower patients versus enabling them. Cannabis is one of those options. Particularly for our senior community struggling with pain, anxiety, sleep issues, cancer and dementia. I work hard to change the current dynamic in healthcare regarding the physician and patient relationship. Doctors used to know their patients well and patients actually used to know their doctors. That personal approach encouraged a more beneficial interaction for both. I attempt to bring that back in medical practice, coaching and educational opportunities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I provide medical consultation for medical cannabis patients, specifically seniors. In addition I have an empowerment coaching practice for professionals that are losing their voice and confidence. Weekly, I host a show called “Healthy Relationships Only” on Instagram Live with family attorney Jamie “Joy” Campbell. We discuss every aspect of what it means to have healthy relationships. In 2021 I started a book series called Courage in Cannabis where people share their stories on how cannabis influenced their lives. two books later, both launched as Amazon #1 best sellers. I have been a physician for 23 years, previously with the Cleveland Clinic, but have been in the entrepreneurial space for 6 years. I have learned that many people want to own businesses but few are cut out for the rigors of being an entrepreneur. A lot of sacrifices are needed, a lot of dedication and faith in your vision.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like to find little speakeasy. Little hidden bars and clubs with jazz like Blue Note Cafe in Bexley and interesting people. We also would have to see a musical at the Short North Stage because musicals feed my soul. Adelaide’s Gin Joint is a wonderful vocal Jazz location. We should also go dancing and have a great brunch at Katrina’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the Courage in Cannabis Book Series Authors and Crew. Their tenacity and drive never ceases to amaze me. I also want to give credit to my daughters. THE most driven and brave women I know!
