Meet Dr. Valencia Moses | Success Mentor & Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Valencia Moses and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Valencia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The joy I bring and operating with authenticity have been key ingredients to the success of my brand. I also wear a signature color whenever I am at networking events or facilitating sessions. That color is green. Not only is it my favorite color, but it represents the growth that is a guiding value for what I want my clients to experience as a result of saying yes to working with Vibrant Coaching. I started realizing how powerful my joy, my positivity, is whenever I have had people reach out to me weeks after an event to share that of all the coaches in the room, if they ever said yes to coaching that they would want to work with me! In paying attention to such unsolicited and affirming feedback, I decided to own the joy that I bring even more as a facet of what sets me apart as a coach. As a result, my clients also experience more hope because I am able to authentically share from my life story in ways that inspire them to believe for a better, brighter future. The combination of joy and authenticity empowers my clients to move from where they are to where they want to be in 5 sessions or less for individuals! When organizational or non-profit clients have the margin to schedule me for at least two sessions with their teams, attendees leave inspired to act upon the goals they have set within those sessions. I love it when I gain new friends over LinkedIn because people want to stay in touch with me after a presentation, especially when it is a webinar!
What should our readers know about your business?
The strengths-informed coaching that my company provides includes a process for clients to gain new insights, increase clarity, creativity, and confidence while producing an actionable plan to achieve meaningful success. . I believe a lot of times there are hints about our future, about the things that will bring us joy that have shown up in our past. Another clue would be how I have always enjoyed taking personality assessments. What is funny now is that I had taken the CliftonStrengths Assessment or StrengthsFinder at least once before the big moment in 2018 when going over my report motivated me to want to become a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. I was able to gain insights about myself that boosted my confidence and helped me quit participating in the self-sabotage that is comparison. I knew I wanted to help other people move through life with more confidence and clarity. Whenever I get the chance through my business, especially when working with individual clients, I mention the difference experiencing the CliftonStrengths Assessment can make in helping people achieve success on their terms. This is why I started describing myself as a success mentor, for so many of my clients have realized they feel stuck–like not able to move forward with an aspect of their lives–because they are trying to go after success as someone else has defined it. I love coaching people in a way that provides them with encouragement, joy, and hope for a better future. My clients often are surprised by how much better they feel after each session and I am often described as being “a breath of fresh air”!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Incline Public House is one of my latest favorite spots. The view during the day-time is one-of-a-kind, as you can see downtown Cincinnati as well as the river over into Kentucky. The food is great, so I would treat my guest to my favorite appetizer–the truffle tater-tots–and their are drafts on tap as part of Cincy’s rich brewing heritage. While in town, we would visit the Cincinnati Zoo, Eden Park’s Krohn Conservatory, see what’s happening in Music Hall, and experience a few things the Cincinnati Art Museum has to offer: a cafe, libary, and their latest collection. If the visitor is brave enough, they can try the famous/infamous Skyline Chili and we have a few sports option if the friend is also a fan! There is something fun going on every week and weekend, so I would of course cater a tour of the town around my guests interests.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to Shoutout the African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. I especially want to give flowers to Briston Mitchell, the Director of Transformative Initiatives & Relationships. When I was newer to Greater Cincinnati, I attended a few events and Briston was one of the first people to consistently notice me. Being seen, valued, and invited to join in on the great things the AACC was doing in the region was such a boost as a newer business owner. Over time, I consider her one of my “business besties” and love working with her in her role at the AACC every chance I get.
