Meet Earl Musick | Cartoonist, speaker, comedian, humor writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Earl Musick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Earl, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I first just worked on the things I love to do such as, drawing cartoons, writing humor, and sharing jokes. I decided to try and sell some of my work so I sent some samples into a few publications. I received several rejection form letters and then I started receiving checks. It slowly grew into a fun and lucrative business.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been blessed to reach many of my dreams. I have been an artist for the FBI, The US Postal Service, The Walt Disney company and so much more. I have been able to share the stage with so many talented comedians and speakers. As a freelance artist and writer, my day can look so different. It all depends on what project I’m currently working to complete. There are days where I spend all day writing humor or drawing cartoons. There are days where I’m on stage speaking or sharing humor. It can be challenging sometimes when I need to write over 30 cartoons in a couple days or if I’m traveling to do comedy, but it’s what I love to do. Prayer, practice, and patience is the best way to reach your goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my best friends just stopped to visit the other day. I took him to a professional hockey game. We grabbed some feel good food at the game. I really enjoyed introducing him to my family.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has been a powerful support group to me following my dreams. I have also received encouragement from some of my heroes in the cartoon and comedy business.

Earl has always been a down to earth friendly person as well as his fame for his cartoonist and humorist speaker. I met him at a Postal Training years ago in the Akron area.
We spoke for a while and he was really personable.
I am more than proud to be able to call this man a friend!
