Meet Eli Gamble | Student, Designer, Photographer, Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eli Gamble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eli, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Staying consistent, being open-minded, and maintaining my physical/emotional wellbeing are all pillars that help me succeed. Everyday I show up to my tasks knowing that I can always learn from those around me- peers, teachers, and consumers of design. Applying said knowledge and always practicing my craft in both the professional and personal settings is very important for remaining consistent. All that while fueling my body and mind is golden.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My first taste of the design industry started in January 2023 with my acceptance into the Student Design Agency on CCAD campus, working closely with the marketing team. In March 2024, I took on an additional role as the social media manager and sole content creator for a local food truck company, Pitabilities. At both jobs, innately different in nature, I employ the same practices instilled in me through my design studies, producing high quality work that relies a message to the desired audience. Throughout my time working in the institutional and food service sides of marketing, I have learned that everything gets more comfortable with time and a solid effort. I love where I am today because of simply finding my flow and connecting with the people around me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If it was a nice summer day, I imagine we would go for breakfast at Northstar Cafe, hit some local thrift stores, pack lunch, grab our water floaties, and go to Alum Lake. I know the best spots so we can eat, sit out in the water to relax and chat, and get out of the city for a while before we enter Columbus for dinner at Tiger+Lily. I’m ordering the “Mala Firecraker” because spicy ramen is the best. After that, we can hit High St. or just have a drink at home- I’m not going to want to stay out late because I probably have work that needs to get done the next day! That’s just one day but some of the other must-visit places around me are the Book Loft of German Village, the Franklin Park Conservatory, Cup O Joe, and Hilliard’s Center Street Market (Pitabilities store location is housed there). And before my friend leaves, I have to read their birth chart and update them on astrological movement.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize the Columbus College of Art & Design community for fostering my artistic growth and blessing me with opportunities. David Bennett, Graphic Design Chair, for being a great teacher and recommending me for an on-campus design job at the Student Agency where I work with Ryan Feeney, Creative Director, a wonderful boss and mentor. Everyone at the Student Agency and the marketing team for supporting for me always. My family for everything they do for me, especially my mom, Jennifer Gamble.
