Meet Erica Griffin | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I feel that after all these years of raising my children the impact I have on them is maintaining self respect, being aware of your actions and surroundings, and also knowing never give up on what you want to happen for your life. Life isn’t a race it’s a marathon. Stay the course, stay active, always learn new things, and live life to the fullest despite the setbacks.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a Wedding and Branding Photography service that I really enjoy. Over the years I have dabbled in different type’s of photography styles from in studio to on location. Worked with natural light to strobe. I can say I differ from others cause I have a versatile stye, no matter the situation I get it done and capture the style my client was looking forward to. I got to where I am by not giving up. I feel like that a failure is not what you lack, but it’s if you quit. The fear of the unknown is why people quit, I had that almost happen to me. Instead I found away to overcome that by doing more research and pivoting. When you have a feeling that there will be light at the end of the tunnel then that feeling will provide you with the answers. I want the world to know that I am willing and able to accept a challenge of feeling uncomfortable and becoming who I was meant to be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a art and food women so I would definitely take them on a Art hop around town, and a food tour starting with small businesses in Cincinnati that has great food. Although I’m from Cincinnati and was raised hear I still haven’t tried a lot of places so we can discover it together. And also I’m all about adventure and trying new this
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ok, not to sound selfish but I nominate myself, it’s been a long time coming and to have courage that I’ve gained over the years it wasn’t easy at all. I also nominate all the black women and women of color that I’ve read about that faced more setbacks I’ve faced and still succeeded still kept moving towards there reality. When I read stories like Cicely Tyson, her book “Just as I am”, and Shonda Rhimes, “Year of yes”, and also Viola Davis “Finding Me” It makes me realize that anything is possible and worth reaching for. So never stop.
