We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Mayr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, what are you inspired by?
Music. Art. People. Events. I am a musician by heart. Music is everything to me. I would like to think that throughout the day music is what really gets me though. So, when I started Eerie Siren Productions it was with the local scene in mind. Supporting the bands from around the area in hope to get the Erie, PA music scene going with more shows, venues and promoters.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So, my art takes form in writing. I am constantly writing down ideas, singing notes into my phone, writing down my thoughts on subjects. I think was sets me apart from others is that I am very tenacious. I don’t stop until I get what I want. I go for it. It’s a one hundred percent of nothing game with me. I think my go getter attitude sets me apart from a lot of people. I will forever be someone who is a leader, not a follower. Something I am very excited and proud about my musical career is my band, Storms Within. The guys in the band all dedicate so much time to what we have created and their wives are incredible people, all supportive. We released a full studio album a year ago and are working on out second studio album, our first as a collective unit. It’s been a pretty easy process. I would like to think it has been a lot of hard work. We have really worked to get some local venues to accept original music, allow metal and rock to be played. Along with headwaying one of 2023’s biggest festival in Erie, Female Feature Fest. Some one the lessons I have learned is that you can not please everyone, nor should you. As long as your mind is in the right place and it’s benefitting the musical community then I am still on the right path. What I would like the world to know about my brand/band/me is that I am not going anywhere. I am young and plan on pushing the limits until I can’t anymore. Erie will become an original mecca for music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say were hitting up some shows around the area. Erie alone there is Basement Transmissions, Rathskellers, Philly on the Rocks, the Voodoo Brewery, just to name a few. Where ever the original show is that night is where we are going. I would like to say that in Erie, Presque Isle is a must. It’s a gorgeous State Park and if you are a water person, going to the beach and listening to the waves is huge. I would say places to eat would be the Tap House, Odis, Storming Crab or Lori’s Wildridge. There are a lot of good food places though. The exciting people would be at the shows, for sure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my band, Storms Within, my family and my friends that support me in everything that I do.
