Meet Erin Gehring | Wardrobe Consultant & Personal Shopper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Gehring and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I heard the term work-life harmony recently and it totally resonated with me. I am one person with one life, the idea of tipping the scales as if I am two separate parts never made sense. That being said, I think we distort our time based on what is important to us at any given life stage. Early in my career, I didn’t have as many demands on my time and work took priority. Once I became a mother my desire for the elusive concept of work life balance grew. It wasn’t something that I could easily achieve in my corporate position. And it’s not that much easier as an entrepreneur. What I do have now is more flexibility that allows me to achieve more harmony between the different aspects of my life.
What should our readers know about your business?
Feeling good in our clothing is about so much More Than Style. We inspire confidence in clothing by helping our clients find the outfits and items that they feel their best in so that they show up as their best. Often times we find those outfits with items that are already in their closet just waiting to be put together. That’s one of the ways we are different. We know that most of our clients have a lot of clothes already. We aren’t just about selling them new clothes. We like to see what they own and help them add the pieces to optimize the versatility while embracing their personal sense of style.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Assuming it’s nice weather, a favorite Columbus spot of mine is German Village. I love walking around the neighborhood on a nice day enjoying the historic homes and trying not to trip on the brick sidewalk. The walking tour would include a stroll the Schiller park, a visit to the Book Loft, and likely end with cocktails on the patio and Lindy’s.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ll shoutout Amy Bauman owner of Your Development Resource for Personal and Professional Development and the leader of a women in business group that she started called Learn Connect Support. I’m certain that entrepreneurship cannot be none alone. The women that Amy has brought into her programs and groups are inspiring, supportive, and just totally amazing.
