We had the good fortune of connecting with Eryn Bruback and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eryn, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success would my interactions with people. I’ve worked in multiple different environments and the things that has always made me successful no matter the role was my desire to go above and beyond. I love getting to meet so many different people on a regular basis and hear some of their backgrounds and seemingly little details of their life. I believe that making people feel special, included and heard goes a long way in general and in business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Skull Society CLTV as a creative outlet for myself & my customers. A hat is such a fun way to accessorize and express your style. There are so many different ways to build your hat and to make it personal to you.

Being a business owner is anything but easy. It comes with so many highs and lows but it’s worth it! It teaches you so much about yourself and what you’re capable of.

I started my first business, Linked & Locked back in May of 2022 while I was working my full time job. I ended up leaving my full time position in November of 2022 to be a full time business owner. I opened up our studio in Lakewood in November of 2023. When I was thinking of opening the studio I realized I wanted to add something else, that’s where the idea of the trucker hat bar came to life.

I’m very much a jump in with two feet kind if girl. That has caused some growing pains along the way with both businesses. If there was anything I would change it would just be that I would do more research at first and make sure I’m purchasing the best materials & supplies instead of having to switch somethings out along the way.

Skull Society CLTV is supposed to be a fun way for you to show a little collection of things you love. It’s a way to express yourself and is such a fun thing to do alone, with your friends or even as a gift for someone you love!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love making itinerary’s and love when people come to visit us in Cleveland!

Day 1 – Grab a little coffee at Heartwood and walk around Pinecrest, maybe catch a movie. I’m a big fan of Kitchen Social for lunch or dinner.
Day 2 – Spend the day exploring the Cleveland Zoo! Check out Little Italy and grab the Italian dinner of your dreams at Mia Bella.
Day 3 – Head over to the Cleveland Bagel Company in Lakewood. Check out The Nest, it’s where our studio is. Be sure to make an appointment to make trucker hats & grab some permanent jewelry. We have so many fun things to check out in our building and area! If you’re hungry when your done, I love Hola…they have the best dips, tacos + fresh made mojitos!
Day 4 – Relax a little. Take a hike! One of my favorite trails is the Bedford Reservation. The Tinkers Creek Gorge is such a pretty overlook and seeing it in the fall is breathtaking! After relaxing and taking in some amazing views, get a little dressed up and let your hair down with some sushi and espresso martinis at The Marble Room. I can’t say enough about it, top tier everything.
Day 5 – Make sure you pop into West Side Market. Just seeing it and walking around makes for a fun morning. Next up – grab a pizza from Edison’s (inside Luckys Market) and head over to Edgewater beach to hang out & watch the sunset.

Extra things to check out if they’re happening while you’re here –
Playhouse Square
Guardians Game
Browns Tailgate / Game

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can most definitely say that I would not be where I am and doing what I get to do if it was not for my husband, my family & my friends. I have such an encouraging and supportive group around me, they give me so much confidence to pursue anything I throw at them. My husband, Zac is the ultimate hype man, he pumps me and helps me with so much behind the scenes. In addition, my parents both have owned their own businesses so watching their success with that empowered me to take the same route.
