Meet Giánni Lynette | Owner of The OMGi Salon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Giánni Lynette and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Giánni Lynette, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because I wanted my life work to be something that was fulfilling. My previous career didn’t feel purpose driven and I felt stagnant, I couldn’t keep just waking up and doing the same routine. I knew I had this talent with my hands and it was time to act on it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My “art” is more than just giving someone a great hairstyle, it’s like a complete wellness experience. Our customers come in and are able to be comfortable enough to expose their true selves, discuss their feelings, & reset all while getting their hair done. I feel most proud that people trust me enough to refer me to their friends and families. I’ve become the “family stylist” to majority of my clientele. The journey of entrepreneurship isn’t always easy but honoring God’s purpose for my life has made the journey worthwhile. What I would like the world to know about the “OMGi” brand is that we are purpose driven. We care about transforming you from the inside out and whatever you choose to disclose while with us, stays with us
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city of Columbus offers a variety of things to from taking a stroll down the Shorth North Arts District, Shopping/Eating at the Easton area & also visiting Pins Mechanical for some fun & drinks. Kitchen Social for Saturday brunch. Donna’s Delicious Dozen for a sweet treat & Strongpoint Church for Sunday Worship.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God & my husband first. Before making the transition from corporate to full time entrepreneurship I first prayed on it. After sitting with God for some time it was clear it was time to move. After I had my meeting with my prospective cos school I talked with my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time. He said to me, “whatever you have to do, do it. I’m here to support you.” That was all I needed and he’s been with me along this journey. Those first two years of schooling were very trying but God would have it to where I was able to connect with the right people that would mentor me, love on me and pour seed into my life throughout that time. Those people know who they are and I’m forever grateful 🖤
