We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Anaple and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grace, what do you attribute your success to?
I can’t take any credit for myself. It really is all God. He’s continued to put opportunities in my lap. Most of my jobs have come through connections and word of mouth. I haven’t paid for ads for my graphic design/photography business, but I continue to have more people come to me and request projects. The relationships I’ve built over the years have definitely played a role in getting new projects.

What should our readers know about your business?
I do such a wide variety of jobs (photography & graphic design being the main services I provide), I love that I’m not always doing the same thing. This year has been a really big year in wedding photography for me. Last year I had a lot of weddings, but half of them were second shooting jobs. This year, I’ve had 11 weddings as the main shooter. These jobs have helped to grow me as a photographer, business owner, and leader. A wedding photographer has to be flexible and take on so many different jobs on the day of depending on the situation, so I’ve really grown in confidence in this job the more I’ve shot weddings. You can only prepare so much for a wedding day, so you have to be ready to make quick decisions and keep everyone on schedule the day of, while making sure to get all the shots. Beyond getting the shots, it’s also important to go above and beyond when it comes to caring for with the couple and the wedding party that you’re spending the whole day with.

This year I also released the second collection for my clothing brand which I had prepared for a long time! It was exciting doing the photo/video shoot for it and seeing it all come to life. I’ve loved getting to do more markets this year and have conversations with people on the meaning behind the brand and just connecting with people on a personal level.

Another fun project I got to do this year is photographing and designing the senior banners for my brother’s football team. I’ve never done something like this before, so I kind of just figured it out on the way, but I love how they turned out! It’s fun getting to see my work hanging up at the stadium!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Doing so many photoshoots downtown has definitely grown my love for the city more. I would say starting the day with breakfast at the Sleepy Bee then going for a walk along the riverfont downtown with a view of the city. A nice afternoon could be spent at the City Flea Market, or Findlay Market looking at the shops. For dinner, definitely Condado Tacos and dessert at the Dipper. And of course, throwing in some fun photoshoots while walking around would be a good time too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God really deserves all the credit for my story and where I’m at today. I could never be at this place on my own, and I’m continually blown away by the opportunities I’ve been blessed with. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for Him.
