Meet Grace Carr | Co-Owner and Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Carr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grace, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Michael was in college when he was offered an internship with a wedding photographer who noticed his talent and taught him the ropes. I think it was just assumed that we would have our own business. We had no idea what we were doing, but we stuck with it, we grew, we adapted, and never gave up.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have always said that your commitment to building relationships, our customer care, delivering next-level photos, and making our clients experience one they will never forget. This truly sets us apart. It sounds cliche but we do actually care that every person feel connected and have the best time with us on their day and they stick around as our “Client for Life.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, this is my favorite question. I am a big foodie and I love to share the things I like with others:
First, we would hit up Ghostlight Coffee for a Bee Sting Latte. Then, if this is a Saturday, we would head to the 2nd Street market for a crepe, veggies and bread.
Then we would pop over to BRIM and the used bookshop or vintage shops in the Oregon District.
Next, we would hit up White Lotus for her Coconut Soup! This is a must.
Then we might get a pedicure at 937 Salon in Kettering.
Finally, we would get a drink at the Van Buren Room and head to either, Glasz Blue, Jollity or Sueno depending on the food we are in the mood for and if this is a week, then we would hit all of them.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Carrs & Co owes its start to Brian Kammerzelt who recognized talent and helped mentor Michael. We owe the City of Dayton for making it possible to have a studio space. We owe thanks to the many amazing photographers who we have worked alongside for all these years. We owe a great thanks to the amazing venues and vendors across Dayton who have championed our work.
