We had the good fortune of connecting with Harmony Haze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harmony, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Performing is all I have ever known. I started hitting stages at the young age of 5 years, and I have yet to experience anything that fills me with such confidence and liberation. I never really wanted to do anything else but perform! I am mesmerized by the feeling of storytelling through art whether I am singing, dancing, acting– even producing music! I’ve always been the type of person that’s going to do what I WANT. I couldn’t imagine subjecting myself to some career that doesn’t even come close to fulfilling my soul the way that my artistic career does. I’m not a “punch-in, punch out office girlie ” haha! But no, it can be difficult at times, you know, it has it’s highs and lows– but what job doesn’t, right? So, yeah I chose to be free and happy, while also being able to provide an experience for others that can be very positive and healing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is definitely a reflection of the wide variety of influence I pull from in the creation process. I try to incorporate all of the genres I enjoy and form it into a cohesive track that pays homage to my inspiration, but is still in it’s own lane. In my music, my goal is to challenge both myself and the listener to think outside the box and appreciate the abnormal. That is what I feel sets me apart from other artists. There is a lot of pressure on musicians to appeal to the masses and stick to the trends in this industry. But I have always stayed true to myself and I create what I like to listen to, and when I share those creations I hope that someone else likes it too! This is apparent in my newest EP release, “Handle With Care”. All of the songs tell a familiar story, but with a personal twist that creates such a unique vibe. And while you can definitely hear some of my inspirations in this music, it is a completely new and different sound that everyone can enjoy!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Okay, I LOVE to eat so I would be taking my friend to a new restaurant every single day! Pepp & Dolores, LuciusQ (literally the best collard greens I have ever had in my life), Alabama Fish, just to name a few! There are so many spots with amazing food here in Cincinnati, we could spend a week just eating! I may also take them to Nostaliga Wine and Jazz Lounge to hear some lovely talented musicians and just vibe in that cool atmosphere. Nostalgia also makes a delicious “French 75” (one of my favorite cocktails) and they’re only $5! Amazing. Cincinnati is also just a gorgeous city so I would take my friend to some parks where we can overlook the concrete jungle and all the pretty lights. Oh, and can’t forget about Grippos. Grippos for breakfast everyday 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, shout out to my therapist! She really helped me come out of a depressive slump that was holding me back for years. I also want to shout out my good friend and fellow artist, Bobby Jaggerjack. He’s been amazingly supportive and encouraging and is a wonderful mentor. Love ya, Bobby! Shout out my friends and family, they always support and want the best for me and I couldn’t do this without them!
