Meet Hayward Thompson | Stand Up Comedian and host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayward Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hayward, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always been artistic and creative. For example, I would play a keyboard outside of he school cafeteria and the kids would put their change from their lunch money in my keyboard case. In addition, ive always had a knack for making money from my skills and ideas. I always had a different outlook on things and it allowed me to learn how to monetize what I have to offer.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My art is stand up comedy what sets me apart from others because I think there is a passion to be the best and I can be so there’s a work I think that goes behind the end result that others don’t normally do and how I got to where I’m at today professionally was a lot of hard work and blessings I saved up money and bought my own club and so that allowed me to be able to perform more often while making a revenue to be able to survive in addition I am one of the few comics that can do all John Russ I can do Christian comedy clean comedy blue comedy anything that’s necessary and I overcame a lot of challenges in this system because I just think it was something that I was born to do when I had a job behind me so none of those challenges became small issues Good giant farther more some of the lessons that I’ve learned is that allowing the people you’re gonna see on the way up are the same ones you’ll see on the way down I’ve learned to just be good to people and pray I know some people turn back and be good to you at the end of the day I would like the world to know about my brand which is ovations entertainment that we love to give back to the community and that we are definitely a diverse group we’ve got people from our colors ages races religions genders to hold on and the other thing ISIS that we all aren’t believers we all know that God has a place in our heart and God has a place in our life and we also celebrate them them

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would probably take them downtown to the Banks area. Maybe catch a Reds or Bengals game and enjoy the nightlife down there. The Christian Moerlein house is good or maybe San Jeannetta Tables Oakley. In addition we would visit the Newport Aquarium, the Underground Museum and Eden Park. Depending on their tastes, we would visit multiple different restaurants and maybe find a good comedy show to attend

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
